Within the next 6-12 months I plan on getting a Bulldog and a Labrador retriever. Ive had a lab before, but never a bulldog so pretty pumped. When we got our Jack Russell and Lab before we left about a 6 month gap between getting the jack russell and then the lab which seemed reasonable; anybody aware of any reasons why you shouldnt get 2 puppies in quicker succession? Apart from obviously making sure theyve both been given shots.

strange combo, but i don't know if i would recommend getting 2 dogs with different energy levels. what kind of bull dog are you looking at? my boxer gets along with labs great, for what it's worth.

Breed of choice being English/British bulldog.

As far as differing energy levels, my old Jack Russell was chill as fuck apart from when he wanted to yap his head off at the tiniest of noise or when you'd play with him and our lab was pretty excitable and ADHD prone so I've had similar types before in a way and there were no evident problems there. both breeds have a good temperament aslong as you raise them well and that's mainly what I care about.

I hate rottweilers, we used to have a big fucker called Ty who I had to put up with when I lived at my grandparents with my uncle. I rejoiced the day it got out the back and disappeared.

That's strange because my family has had two 2 rottweilers in the past and they have been nothing but good to us. They're a little hyper in the beginning but if you train them well, they will grow to be calm, loving dogs. That and rotties don't fucking snort.

My wife and I want an english bulldog too! as soon as my crazy ass boxer/lab gets a little older and calms down, he's gonna get a little bro:) He goes to a dogsitter where there's an english bulldog and they get along great.
that's one baller ass bull dog. I heard they have breathing problems though...im sure you'll do your research.
Puppies at the same time is a good idea because they keep each other company, but good point about energy levels.

A trained dog will help to set a good example of obedience and teach a puppy the ropes. Two puppies sounds overwhelming to me, unless you have a lot of time that can be spent with them. I think the only reason you shouldn't get two puppies in quicker succession is because puppies, although heartwarming and adorable, can also be a major pain in the ass.
Oh, and you should maximize your time where you can take out a puppy and use it as leverage to get some strange.

At my house I have a male Rat Terrier and Jared ("i" on be-mag) and his wife have a male Boston Terrier, and they hate/are gay for each other.
Its probably just down to getting them trained and settled. I'd imagine it to be pretty difficult to train two dogs at once. We've only got one thats just turned one year old. She well trained but still likes to destroy anything that will fit in her mouth

Not really into dogs (nm the sig'), but I could always go for a french bulldog

Get a pit bull, they're bulldogs without the respiratory problems that cost thousands of dollars and multiple surgeries to fix. People think my pit is a bulldog half the time anyways.

^Not a bad solution, although it looks nothing like a bulldog. Idiots who know nothing about dogs are often mistaken by breed.

Pit bulls are illegal here and will be put down if youre caught with one, you can however get Staffordshire bull terriers here which are like shorter versions.

bulldogs don't have respiratory issues, cheap ones do. that is why you do your research and pay top dollar. i wouldn't feel comfortable buying an english bulldog for less than $1200 unless i was getting a deal.
my boxer has amazing air passages, no snorts and no snoring. his underbite is also perfect for his breathing.

i agree that pitbulls are great dogs, but there are a lot of reasons i will never have one. mainly based on the fears of other people and i dislike most terriers.
