I blasted myself boosting out of the 10ft venice vert bowl back in march. its been about 6 months since my injury... (the doctor said 2 small hernias, and potentially fractured pelvis)

has anyone had a hernia before? and recovered for skating? i didn't get surgery, they said it was too minor to be needed. now 6 months later i can do some mild physical activities like biking, tennis, swimming, jogging, etc.... but high-impact things like skating literally make my groin feel like its going to explode.

has anyone come back from this injury? i'm 23 and pretty sure this might be the end of my 'aggressive' skating career.

I've never had a hernia, but i did fracture my pelvis skating a bowl as well a couple of years ago. I couldnt even put weight on my right leg for 3 months, and then it took an additional month or 2 before i was able to actually skate and do physical activity normally again. Hope you the best of luck on healing up soon, that shit sucked when it happened to me, and i'm sure yours is 10x worse due to the hernias

I've had a hernia for about 2 yrs, and it still fuckin hurts. It's why I don't skate as much but sometimes I just suck it up.

I have not had a hernia, but i have had the inner leg groin pull... Everytime you skate on it its gonna hurt and it usually comes back after 6 weeks, just let it heal or you will battle with it for a year or so like i did. Fractured pelvis heals way faster, well mine took six months. The only thing that sucks is your muscles shrinking which turns into not being able to skate as good as before, its like you have to relearn everything. Soulskater for life.
