I have this art project I'm editing for a friend, no personal vested interest but, it is for her final fine art masters exhibition.

It is basically cutting a single found shot of the northern lights, synced to a score stolen from an 80's suspense film, 'Possession'. Fucking art students, I know.

My progress yesterday after 30 mins was:

Very basic, but she's not asking for more. My question is; Currently it looks second rate, I have After Effects, how do I clean this up? Bearing in mind it will be projected.

uh, I don't know if I could help you on that one....looks like the main problem is the resolution. I'm sure you could mess with it a bit to improve it but that is just basic primary correction stuff....in ae just put on something with a shadows, mids, highlights, and saturation control and just play around.

Late reply!

Thanks for the tips homie. My friend didn't have access to high res footage, had to rip it off YouTube.. Like you said, seriously limited the sharpness but she seemed pleased with the end result [Insert better than expected meme]
