I don't see it as a crutch as much as I see it as the latter half of the trick. I very much enjoy fluid body motion.

My point being that truspin soyale can be pulled fluidly. If you can't make it happen sans switch-up then get fucked charles cause I don't want yerr goofy bullshit. Master the mastering at hand, before embarking upon new mastery. Or do whatever you want, i'm mostly kidding.

a few years ago i hurt my ankle pretty badly learning true soyales. it's kinda hard to spin one direction and slam your soul foot back another direction. i think its because when i do them one way i do it like a true soul and torque my other foot, so the weight is on the soul foot. when i do it the other way i do it like true royale but wrench my soul foot so i can lock the heal down. the weight is on the backslide foot and it keeps the spin kinda going, so it's more stretch for your ankle ligaments.

moral: stretch your ankles. always.

i just meant that there are 2 ways to do the trick.

when i do it this way \ __ (left foot royale, right foot soul) i do it like a true royale, like gRANT said. i treat it like a tru royale, cause i'm left footed, so the weight is on the royale foot and the soul foot is just there.

when i do it this way __ / (right foot royale, left foot soul) i treat it like a torque soul, cause im left footed. all the weight is on the soul foot and the royale foot is just there. instead of saying 'switch tru soy,' i'd just think of it as a 'natural truespin torque soul.'

yes, it's the same thing. it's just an easy way to scaffold based off of a trick you already know. just changes your thinking about it and balance.

i suggest everyone goes out and learns it both ways. i bet most of you can do it if you just try. if you're having trouble, change the way you think about it.



if you do torque soul and soyale going the same direction, then learning this trick both ways shouldn't be too hard.
