HELP! Sony HDR-CX12????

So I have the camera in the title. HOW DO I get video from it to my computer? I'm a complete noob. I have no cable. It does have memory cards. though when I plug them in it says they're .CPI files.


I'm lost. Any help from how to get the video to my computer/convert/edit programs would help.

Your going to needa an iLink cable (firewire) if the footage is hd footage, by default your camera shoots in hd. You can change it to standard def and you should beable to upload the sd footage with a usb cable. either way your going to ened some sort of cable.

since i don't know what OS and what editing software you use,

there is not more help than: use the log and capture tools of your editing software.
