Donate and Skate is a Non-Profit Organization that is aimed at putting aggressive skates in the hands of those less fortunate & to those who are interested in becoming a part of the sport of rollerblading for the first time but do not possess the financial means to do so.

We take donations of anything and everything skate related from frame bolts all the way to complete skates. Any parts from any brands will be accepted. We also take money-donations to purchase skate parts if you do not have any lying around, but would like to help the cause.

If you have anything you would like to donate to help us build skates, have any ideas on how you could help, or have someone you think should receive a pair of skates from D.A.S., please send us a message on Facebook or or email us at [email protected]

I've got a couple pairs of old blades I could send out. Is shipping covered, or would that be on me?

That would be awesome Mike! If you are going to Bittercold that would just be the easiest for all parties right now. We're trying to work out some help from a few local companies and places friends work at to see if they will help with shipping costs in the future, but nothing is set in stone yet. If you're going to the contest and to want bring them to the tradeshow or meet somewhere during the weekend that would be great!

I think there needs to be some sort of requirement that these kids make an edit or something to show they don't just sell them.

Good thing these kids have cameras and FCP on their computers to show proof that their frankenblades aren't going unused.

I was really hoping this sentence could run-on some more. Don't plan to donate until it does.

There's a few kids in my area that are in need of skates and parts that aren't able to buy new ones for themselves, so they will definitely be getting some blades or parts first.

I travel around A LOT to blade, and you can tell if someone has been skating hard on their skates for any length of time. As I see and meet people I'm going to get their contact info and send them out donated skates to keep them blading. Also, I always have little kids at skateparks telling me they'd love to try to skate but don't know where to buy skates or they don't have enough money to. If we give those kids skates and someone to skate with, that's a wonderful growth for our industry that skate companies aren't taking advantage of promoting to.

People can also contact us with someone they know that believe should receive skates. We have a couple things we will do to make sure that people aren't just hitting us up trying to get free used skates, as that was one of the main concerns we had when we started this endeavor. I'm friends with people in other areas of the country that I know and trust that are constantly getting new kids on skates. I'm going to be having them help me out with find people in other areas. It will be a slow learning process, but it's pointless to NOT try and do this nation wide just because of the possibility a few shady people.

Hopefully there were some run on's in there.
Glad to see there were some serious responses, we really really really appreciate them!

Seriously, if you try to scam people who doing something like this, you're a piece of shit.

Yeah, I'm talking to you Charlie.

i think thats a good idea, but when you get to those little teenage kids who are all about skating when they see it, they will try it for 3 days then never skate again. id hate to see my skates go to someone random who wouldn't appreciate them as much as i still would. good idea though, but you wont be getting any blades from me!

You cats should set up a big donation box, ala Toys for Tots at Bittercold. So far, the only extra parts I have are my stock M12 frames, and I don't even think anyone wants em.... :-?

Anyhow: Big box. With someone to watch said box.

The concept is this: if you take a penny from someone they probably don't care. And if you take a penny from a million people you've got.... ...... ......10,000 dollars? I think that's right. And that's a lot of money that nobody cared to lose! Bump it up to 25 cents a person and bam, you've made a difference!

The downfall is that people have to really believe they are making a difference and make the effort to send away their old parts. If every skater does it there's no way we wont get plenty of skates from the random parts. If only a few do it you'd probably get 45 half done skates missing sole plates and liners.

And since it's not really about making money, you can't be upset if it doesn't work for every kid you give the skates to. I would just like to know there's a screening process so that the decisions aren't being made for stupid reasons.

Yeah, I'm talking to you Charlie.

Obviously, you have no idea what I'm about. People talk about a "shift in consciousness" being needed in order to change the world for the better, and a shift in consciousness in regards to intellectual property (and property in general) is merely one piece of the puzzle. If nobody ever stirred things up we would remain stagnant and unaware of new possibilities. There is also a big difference between scamming an institution or individual who is doing harm to the world and scamming a truly charitable organization. I can elaborate if you'd like, but you should probably just keep my name out your mouth.

On a lighter note, dope idea, Stefan. Respect.
