unreal, full ao topsoul full ao topsoul was so laced.
As was true top porn inspin topsoul. So much control.
i'm watching it for 3rd time right now, i can't believe how clean that 360 ao top soul to 360 ai top was.
Watched it for the second time now, paying attention to his switch game. Madness.
his control on the skates is awe inspiring. he is so smooth which just makes him look real stylish.
RIDICULOUS MODE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! awesome
somebody has to tell Julen about that trendy illusion spins so he can proove the world that they are not as hard as they look haha, switch and natural

Pfff Spin to win again
abbernaffy
08.04.2011, 07:04
Who cares if its spin to win. Lets just never spin on our skates. Lets just jump straight on to grinds! Because that's clearly more interesting eh?
Nobody can crit spin to win tricks until they can either say they have done one themselves and they are easy or that they look bad! And neither of those points will happen!!!
Spin to win will continue to get bigger until it turns into spin and flip to win!
Something about his face makes me want to punch him, but man that guy is ridiculously (word? sp?) good  Some of those tricks were unreal!
Incredible grindig skills. Probably one of the best Ive seen.
Style is stilll not my cup of tea, and wish he did more than just grinderblading. Being able to spin so well both ways could be really interesting if he skated more creatively.
But I also see that DAT park is made for grinding. Would still add some flavour to see something else
true savannah inspin topacid back savannah was insane. And of course fullcab AO topsoul fullcab AO topsoul and the fakie 5 topsouls

Why doesn't he ever skate street? Every edit online of him, with maybe an exception of 1 or 2 from a long time ago, is just indoor park...I mean, that's cool...tricks are hard, but some variety would be cool.
That was unbelievably sick.

Julien is an amazing skater. Some of those tricks were just unreal. And his switch game is just ridiculous. I do wish we saw more street skating from him
BRAVO sir. That was incredible, he cleaned his shit up. Guess the hatred fueled him, nice control, skated from his hips, rolled away from tricks with speed. Incredible, can not wait to see what the future holds for this kid.

They wont be hard for someone like julien to do. That's what he was going for. If Cudot started doing illusions, he would shit on everyone doing them.
I've hated hard on him in the past, but this edit finally tells me he's grown into his own skating. He is the future. He will be the world champion for years to come.
and I welcome that.

Nope, makes no sense at all.
He just does every trick like it's just another trick. He seems to not sink into anything, the moment he locks something he just holds it. His tricks are amazing but he doesn't do anything extra on top of them, no tweaked grabs or oddly placed weight on tricks (like some people do souls with all the weight on the soul foot and the other foot practically rocketed out), he's just perfectly standard about everything. Some people put so much effort into looking steezy that it's unnatural, he seems to put no effort into it at all. He just needs to own his tricks (add a little something extra) to make his blading would be even more awesome.

This is what's wrong with modern rollerblader mentality. To fully accept someone's blading you think he must be a unique character with an artsy approach to blading.
People have different approaches to skating, and not all of them want to be that "unique character" who wears vest and doesn't afraid of anything. Deal with it, that is not the reason to disrespect their blading. Let everyone take blading in whatever direction they want, diversity is good.

I don't want him to be artsy or fully unique or whatever.
I'm not saying he really needs to be either, it's just something that could make him stand out more, and help drive him to pro status. And I never disrespected his blading, and yes, diversity is good, which is why I say that something extra to help him stand out would help his skating. Look at all the pro skaters we have now. Insane skill on top of a distinct style. He doesn't need to dress like Robbie Pitts, he just needs something [other than enormous skill] that makes people say "That dude should be pro."
Saying that the modern rollerblader mentality necessitates complete originality is completely off. You don't disrespect your friends who you skate with because they aren't super unique, you just appreciate the skill that they have. Originality is something extra on top of that skill, but in the end, it's the person's natural skating that you admire, not his leather pantz and denim vest.
I would never say that someone should completely change their skating, and I'd never disrespect someone who is obviously skilled just because their style doesn't fit what I think is cool. I always say that you should blade for yourself and no one else, I was just commenting on something I personally thought could make his blading better.

He already has something that makes him stand out: wins big competitions by doing hard connected tricks, tries new airs into grinds (bio 540 aotp?) and i'm sure more, i just don't see him blading in real life, so i can't know. Yes he may not be someone's cup of tea, but he is not a dude who just does tricks, that's what i disagree with. What tricks is important, how they were done is important too.
Actually now anyone who does some ridiculous gaps, switch ups on bigger obstacles or balanced tricks on longer obstacles would stand out, because the masses are into smaller/shorter stuff, "unique spots > hard tricks" mentality is now in and spreading. Everyone around me including myself do a lot of that, everyone in the edits i see lately do that. (Soon.)
I didn't know your view on blading until now, only that post. Your post caught my attention because it looks like a modern rollerblader opinion to me and a serious one (and because i know that you are young, i admit). And by "modern rollerblader opinion" i mean being too picky about other's skating, trying to compare everyone to his idols and seeing only what appeals to him as a good thing.
Also now you said "Look at all the pro skaters we have now". Why are you comparing him to them? He is not a pro, he is an AM Julien Cudot with his style and his tricks which can even grow into something more original and dope than what current pros are doing. Give it some time.
Not enough achievements in blading industry/history for him to be pro. But pro status can also be given to whoever is going to bring more sales by representing the brand and that isn't cool.
The kid is so young...

Heard Crystal Castles at Old Navy, not exactly an unknown band, especially their earlier stuff.

i wouldn't be surprised but who cares, as long as hes not doing stupid things like Stephane Alfano or Broskow.....and i would fully understand Cudot if he starts hating americans after all the hate, boo-ing, middle fingers and shit like this. Imagine traveling around the globe so you can be boo-ed or flipped off by some of the best pros only bcs you don't fit in some standards
