I guess I just have high standards. I didn't start out with shit like that, and all the people I fucks with didn't either. The beat was alright, I suppose.

I liked it, might want to re-mix the vocals. way too low man. Fucking haters everywhere.

I make music constantly, and 90% of the time it just remains on my HD's or in the garbage bin. Its hard to put yourself out there.

yea I'm just learning how to mix stuff so that's the feedback I'm looking for. I'm also not too worried about people not liking it, it's only one groups opinion plus feedback is feedback. I also wrote these songs almost a year ago so I see the flaws in them but it's not like I'm going to stop what I'm doing cause some 16 year old named moose who probably listens to different music than me gets all big on be-mag. thanks for the feedback both negative and positive.

btw no1 listened to this one.

Maybe I was a bit harsh with my statements last night. My bad.

but for real both vocals and beat need to turn up. It sounds like you added an effect to the vocals, but I'm thinking it's probably just the mic and lack of sound proofing around it which is giving it that sound.

Well I am not 16 years old, first and foremost. Second off I would like to think I know what I am talking about since me and my roommate do have a full studio in our place and that's pretty much all we do is record and make beats. He masters a lot of shit, for a lot of different artists. I am learning how to master tracks myself right now. Anyone can grab a mic and set it up in the corner of their house, which is what I am assuming you did. I could be wrong, but from the quality, that's just what it sounds like. Also, if you're making your own beats, get a bit more creative with them, don't just loop a single sample over and over again, then throw a drum kit on there and add a little bit of bass. Shit's mad annoying. What programs are you using, for recording, beat making, chopping samples, and all that shit?

I'm also learning how to mix stuff. The beat is from A tribe called quest's album the low end theory, an infamous date rape. I'm using Pro tools le 8 with the Mbox 3 and an akg 3,000 compressor mic. I write rhymes and don't make beats this is the problem I have because I'm not down with all the new-school, autotuned, chopped and screwed, or knowledge lacking rap which is so prevalent in today's music. Any producer wanna give me a Pete Rock, J Dilla, or Primo style beat and I would be in heaven. yea it is in my room and in a corner, this is also the first thing I've ever put out and I appreciate everything you're saying, but I'm sacrificing quality for content to get my feet of the girnd. I'm only trying to show potential.

Word, word..that's cool My best advice to you would be find a cheap keyboard with a midi-controller on it. You can probably get a axiom 21 key for fairly cheap. Download a program to chop samples with, and just experiment. I can see if I have any beats my roommate has made lying around you can fuck with, just for shits. PRetty sure the ones I have, have already been used for the most part, but if you wanna fuck around with something I can probably get you something.

Also, try hanging some blankets in the corner by where your mic is, put up some egg cartons up on the all. It sounds weird, but that will help out a lot with sound proofing. Make sure you're facing the blankets/egg cartons when recording as well.
