View Full Version : Xsjado top straps, can they be replaced with buckles?
So it's been like two months into my farmer 3s and the top straps might as well be held together by rubber bands.
Is it a good idea to use like razor buckles?

I don't see how you're going to attach them.
Pretty much how long the straps on my wilsons lasted. I had some extra ones though. This doesn't help you at all. I'll
Oh yea razor buckles might work. But there is no buckle protection so they would be extremely easy to hit if you miss a trick.
get new velcro and sew it on
I just did it and skated it today.
It is not difficult, just undo the velcro, and the screw holes are already there.
Just get 4 washers, one for each side, and attach the buckles to the holes that are already there.
And goes it change the way the skate feel? Def.
You CAN get it really tight, even tighter than the velcros, but problem is, it doesn't have that "give" that the velcros have. You gain more support that way I suppose but you lose a bit of the magic that is xsjados... but I had no choice.
I'll post a photo of it in a little bit.

I put my pants over my skates anyway like a faggot so I got some buckle protection.

Oh! I thought you said TOE straps. I did the Velcro to buckles switch when I had the Latimers. I liked it better because I hate the super-flex of Shadows but the cuff doesn't flex right because it has those deep cuts in the top which are supposed to be held together by the wrap-around Velcro. I would like to see an improved cuff on the new models, perhaps able to be used with a strap or buckle.

yeah my straps stopped sticking to each other so i did that and i really didn't like it. so i just velcroed them then tied a shoe lace around the cuff so they held, and it worked pretty well
