For my money, rittenhouse can't be beat for value. You can kill a fifth in a sitting and feel like you made a great return on your investment.

in the $20-$25 range, I love Elijah Craig and Redemption. Elijah Craig is easier to get, but it's either love it or hate it for most people.

for the $30 range, I'm looking at a trifecta of woodford, jeffersons, and four roses.

Above that, I'm going either Irish or Scottish (substitute Japanese here occasionally).

Pappy Van Winkle, by far the best American I've ever had. You definitely pay for it, but its worth it to splurge on something that good every now and then.

Rogue Dead Guy Whiskey was the best whiskey I have ever had the pleasure of trying.

The Rogue stuff is alright... typical Oregon hipster version of something though...

I love Bulliet and Bulliet Rye, and I always keep a bottle of each on hand (Right now, I have 5 bottles of each, because they are on sale for 8 bucks off this month)

I just bought a fifth of Russels Reserve 10 year last night, and it is extremely mellow, with a lot of vanilla... it's actually too soft on flavor, and comes off a little harsh from the alcohol.

I bought the Fighting Cock (http://www.fightingcock.com) fifth last week, and at 103 proof, it was ridiculously good for mixing. Not a straight drinker though.

Colorado is doing some really good stuff with whiskey right now.... Stranahans and Breckenridge are both nom

Good stuff, found that with my dad when we were in Houston a couple months ago. We found it for almost half what they charge for it in Chicago and brought a few bottles back

I don't drink much else but scotch whisky, but I've had some intimate time with Wild Turkey, Rare Breed and it was worth the money.

I went to the Rogue Brewery today and thought of this thread. Decided to get the Dead Guy whiskey and was not disappointed! For the price it is actually very good!

When I still drank I was a die hard Old Forrester man. It is $15 a fifth and tastes better than any other bourbon out there.

hahaha, America has more beers than any place on earth... In my city we are the brewery capital of the world (http://www.portlandwalkingtours.com/tours/other_tours/breweries_tour.php)
and as such we have every variety of beer you can imagine.

Now that we are done talking about that pussy piss water....

Continue with whiskey talk.

my favorite american whiskey is the kind that isn't from america, but is from scotland, and is a single malt.
