The "New Super-Lock Groove" with a flat 55 setup?

Why setup the Switch frames anti-rocker? And where's the Fiziks 2? I swear Hyser is trying to bring RB down from the inside.

lol
theyre anti cause theyre the lower end solo?
but they have switch frames..
tribe was the lower end solo of '09 so it probably is the lower end solo of '10
so maybe the '10 estillo will have the new sprung/fiziks?
seems too soon tho.

So it's the 90's all over again and neon colors are cool now?
I swear Hyser is trying to bring RB down from the inside.
Sure seems like it.

I don't care about the colours, just the setups. Why spend money to "fix" the groove on an obsolete frame, instead of fixing the Switch groove so you don't have to run anti-rocker to make it grind? People who buy RBs are more likely to skate them stock (and not know better), so this is literally setting them up for failure.
Those look sick. The white DT's/New Jack look like a very nicely laid out scheme. I agree that putting anti-rockers on Switch frames is completely pointless (possibly an insult to them even) and makes the purpose of the Switch frame (which is its ability to house massive wheels while still giving a very formidable split gap) redundant.
The neon reminds me of car colours.
P.S. the new strap on the Jacks looks really improved: slimmed down and much more durable. New buckle too, which is good.
P.P.S. Is RB really going to call the Solo boot a "Rhino" style?

P.P.S. Is RB really going to call the Solo boot a "Rhino" style?
Do you know that it's the Rhino boot mold? It makes sense to me!

"Rhino" was the platform/generational name of the Dirk/CI-5/Daytona/Swindler/etc. boot and frame. The Solo is a heavily reworked version of it, and I thought Solo was the name of this new version, but I guess they're sticking with Rhino.
I agree that having the entry-level/budget skate set up flat, and with that groove to boot, is silly. Kids are going to eat so much shit because of it, "setting them up for failure" is spot-on. I think they re-did the groove on the TRS frame before the Switch frame came out, though. Or maybe at the same time.
I do think they look pretty dope though, a little acetone on a rag to get rid of the graphics on the cuff (and hopefully that panel on the skin too) and I think it's a really good-looking skate. Hopefully the soulplates and midsoles aren't riveted together and/or glued to the boot... that was so dumb.
As for the Tribes coming set up with antis, the "point" of the big wheels doesn't really have anything to do with how you set up the inner wheels. The 72's are going to go fast no matter what, and since the Switch sucks for flat (or hi-lo, same difference in terms of grinding), period, antirocker it is. The groove isn't even close to right.
I'd do exactly the same, assuming I wasn't able to make any mold changes with the frame. But Tom didn't design the Switch and it seems he's pretty much stuck with it for now; I think he's done a pretty good job of working around/with it.
The neon, I don't mind, I think it's a tasteful amount. Again, a little acetone on a rag, and it's gone from the soulplate and strap, and the buckle's easy enough to switch out (assuming this skate has removable hardware not rivets) if it's THAT big of a deal.
I swear Hyser is trying to bring RB down from the inside.
