View Full Version : Salo mods
Finally got my hands on some salos. Leaning towards the razors SL backslides. If I mount these to the boots can I ride them with the regular salo soles? Or will they hang lower than the sole plates?

are you saying you only want to put on the bs plates?
theyll hang over at least half an inch
i would do the slider and bs
you can screw then on like wide bodies
or just of the soul side of the stock souls
flatten the bs nub
then screw then on for a lower profile
im liking this one here:
I wanted to "ruin" these gorgeous boots as little as possible
So I only shaved down the nub where the bs plate goes
Cut the souls to fit in like stock souls
I'm pretty happy with them.
This boot is a harder plastic than my ST8s so it feel way more solid.

Or you could do remz souls and bs plates like I did.

I'm trying to keep the sole as close to the bottom of my foot as possible so I'm trying not to use the sliders. But it looks like I might end up having to. I've also got limited access to a dremel and parts so I have to make sure whatever I do I get right the first time.
Thanks for the help guys.

if you use the sliders they wont be any thicker than the stock souls
as long as theres no midsoul
Youre a good man, thanks for the info.
While I'm geeking out on skates what do you think, feinberg boots white sl plates and the old light grey 5050 balance frames that are brand new? I could do that or use some old white core frames (kinda dingy and beat up).

that would look pretty good imo.
the frame will match the lace holders
maybe you could find white cuff to match the souls or something?
maybe some white razors buckles
i feel like white frames would just be too much.
but def sounds good
as long as the mod is real clean and shit
you might have to pop out the stock screw receptor on that side
Are the feinberg cuffs really stiff? I've rode softboots for roughly 9 years and have gotten used to comfortable skates. I'm mostly just worried about the forward flex in the buckle area

forward flex is decent but those cuffs are definitely stiffer than older models
i have some old white cuffs
barely used actually but theyre softer than the feinberg cuffs
you could just use razors screws and cuff bolts to attatch them
