I have a pair of white freestyle frames coming sometime this week, I'm going to see how they feel on my 250ccs. I'm not sure if Fiziks/riding flat are really doing it for me right now.

I might go back to riding my red Varsity's, and I really regret giving my Transfers away now. :(

So much confusion, every time I think I've found the perfect combination of skates/wheels/frames for my skating, I start to second guess it when the slightest thing goes wrong.

Freestyle frames do not affect my style or how fast I can roll. I use Bones Swiss bearings, and they worked just fine when I was skating anti-rocker.

Skating flat has put in place some kind of mental inhibitor that causes me to over analyze what I'm doing a split second before I lock a trick, due to having to be more precise. That means that my consistency rate has dropped because I get wigged out more often.

Who knows, I might put the freestyle frames on and hate it instantly. I just want to exercise my options because it's been over 2 years since I last skated freestyle. The only reason I stopped skating freestyle was because the aluminum cores of my 2nd gen 50/50 core frames broke in 3 places on each core. I was doing just fine on them, and switched to anti-rocker out of not having any cash and getting some hand-me-down 50/50 balance frames with GC anti-rocker wheels.

Exactly the same as my experience- I loved flat, but constantly thinking about hanging up on grinds was ruining blading for me. I have no middle wheels and it doesn't affect my speed or control, but it makes grinding a heck of a lot easier!

I didn't visit y'all for a long time.
I'm kind of going through a really tough time. last summer my dad had a stroke and now he's completely paralyzed. My Mom is taking care of him everyday in this place he's at. At the end of May they're going back to France to be with the rest of the family.
I can't help much as I'm studying and working my ass off, so I spend some time with them during the weekends. Now I'm working on photographing the whole process and it's really depressing.

Besides that, I failed half of my maths exams so I decided to go study photography and arts. I'm having a great time and I really feel like finally I'm doing something for myself.

I bought plane tickets last night, through Orbitz, to go to Poland in late August, and inadvertently only bought tickets for me and my wife at $1,350 each. Something happened when I changed the dates, and the number of passengers also changed. I was confused because the whole time, the site said two seats, which was correct.

When I discovered my mistake, I called the booking agent, and they said that I had two options:

1. Call the individual carriers (Lufthansa & Canada Air) and add my son to my departing and returning flights.
2. Cancel the purchase through the agent for 100% refund, wait until the refund clears my checking account, and re-book correctly.

My son is <2 years old, and will not have his own seat, so his fare is only 10% of an adult fare, about $131.

I called Lufthansa, and for my son's ticket they wanted to charge me $277 for a one way ticket to Krakow, and said that I would have to call Canada Air to arrange the one way ticket back to the US because Lufthansa didn't operate the return flight.

I ended up having to cancel the damn purchase, but I'm ecstatic that I'm getting a complete refund. Damn, I fucked that one up, hmm? :lol:

I think the problem with powerblading is not the activity itself, but the way it is filmed. Rollerblading filmers are used to setting their camera at a spot, and having all the extra equipment/backpacks sitting in the cars trunk/somewhere at the spot. You need a skilled filmer with powerblade/freeskate/rec skate setup to keep up with the skater doing powerblade stuff.

Just returned from a Powerblading® "session". First time Powerblading® on Kizer Advances and UC PB's. Going to post a review in a bit. Rode down two bridges. One over a two lane train track and one over an autobahn. The fastest on inline skates I ever went. Not fast enough tho. Ten or so headlight flasher and three horns in 45 minutes, nice.

I'm not in great physical shape by any means but I can still back royale a ledge above my waist, do all kinds of contortionist grinds and 540 on vert. Actually skating hard across the city is completely different to aggressive skating where you do a couple of tricks at a time and then hang out to watch a friend do a trick, then go again. Aggressive skating is more about having testicular fortitude and reactionary muscle strength than about stamina and cardio. For most skaters.

Back on my red Varsity's, but with white Fiziks now. No freestyle for me, the sale fell through. Fuck it, I'm too invested in Fiziks supplies.

Also, ran into a rollerblader I had never seen before that has never skated with another rollerblader before. I taught him how to drop in on transition, how to roll up it fakie, and how to stall both front and backside.

His wheels were so coned out, 45 degree angles, almost sharp to the touch! I gave him 4 wheels that were in much better shape, showed him how to rotate them and stressed the importance of bearing spacers.

Kid was stoked. Felt good to share information and see someone progress so quickly.

Yeah me too, but my good thing is I think some of my problems Sunday were due to super shitty old skates, new gummy paint making the ledge sticky, and really rough runup not getting along well with my 55mm antirocker setup :?

A girl at my work, who was in my class in grade 3 and grade 4, was at the cash register next to me. At one point, she says "It's hot!", so I say "Weight problem. :lol: " . That's the joke, since she actually has a quite hot body and is not fat (cannot provide pics for now). Then she says "What the fuck is wrong with you?!" while I laugh. I went back to the floor to do some regular department store shit. Once I went to the employee's room for my break, she was there with some other dude who is trying to hit on her. She seemed hella pissed off, and the dude asks me "Do you really think she's fat?".

I just put on my troll smile and don't answer to create confusion. Then she starts a fucking drama about how I called her fat in front of the clients and tells me that I don't know her life. The guy is like "Ok come on, you don't really think she is fat ? Just say sorry." I asked her if she really believes that I thought about ridiculing her in front of the clients (I think that they didn't even notice, but she is convinced that they gave her a funny look or some shit) , and I let them know really clearly I am not saying sorry when I didn't do anything wrong.

The next day, during my break, I saw her in the employee's room alone and asked her if she is still mad. She says that she isn't mad anymore, but that what I said was hurtful when I don't know her life and it was in front of the clients and I didn't say sorry, so she sees no reason to talk to me again. I ask her if she really thinks she is fat (more out of curiosity than anything else), and I ask her if she really believes I meant to hurt her. Then she mentions again that I don't know her life and what not. (She wasn't fat at all in elementary school, she was actually kinda skinny). I told her that I sincerely thought she would find it funny, and I told her that people say hurtful things to me when they don't know my life, but if I reacted like she did, I wouldn't go far, and she didn't appreciate it.


Was I really wrong in this situation ? I don't feel guilty and I don't feel like I should say sorry. Be-Opinion would be appreciated.

Maybe she's never had a weight problem but does have a body image problem. A lot of girls are really insecure, so maybe you should say you're sorry and made a joke in poor taste not realizing you'd offend her.

You could even decide to go as far as explaining that you only made the joke because she's far from having a weight problem and you thought she'd understand your context, but that you were mistaken.

went skating with friends today. one has only been skating for a few months and rides a pair of gens he found on craigslist. he was complaining about his liners hurting him. i looked and noticed that they were senate sinister liners...problem was easy to identify (he also only had one heel pad in because he didn't even know that gens have heel pads in them). i then saw something very interdasting. he had some anti-rockers i was very interested in.

Seemed like a crime to me. i traded him my unused solo tribe liners and the stock anti-rockers that came with the tribes. he was very happy that his feet/shins didn't hurt anymore once he traded out the shitty sinister liners. all and all twas a good day indeed

i felt it was a crime that he had them on his skates but had no use for them. Why should someone have them when they've never even heard of mindgame? He thanked me repeatedly for fixing his foot pain and telling him why they were hurting him.
