i cant get a job. this living situation simply wont allow it, i dont even have a key or a phone. im moving again in 3 months anyway so id rather not meet new people that im just going to leave - again. so ive been here for 8 months with no desire to meet anyone. i live with my sister and my mom in a 1 bdrm outside chicago. moved here in early november and havent said a word or even looked at them in the eye since then. mainly because every time i show any kind of adult action/aura and look at either of them in a conscious way they look back like im 12. i feel too conscious around them. like im stuck in this constant mother/child trip when I should be in an adult/parent stage. her attachment and complete lack of parental advice just keeps throwin me down. I get up on my own and then get to a point where i need her to be a parent and the only advice she has for me is "move home, you dont need to be on your own... i need you"
im 24 and this bitch is living with my sister because she (my mom) cant live alone. i dropped out of college, gave up my apartment, quit my job, sold everything, and lost contact with this chick i wanted to spend some time (or whatever) with because my mom needed money and was about to lose her house. she lost it anyway and moved in with my sister here. my sister is moving closer to chicago in sept, which means all of us. and itll be the same situation all over again.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Have you consider Job Corps? You can learn a trade there. I did Job Corps and I am currently working in Computers. It's free, free housing, free schooling, free everything. It's government funded. from 16-25. You have to have the desire to break away from that situation. Basically while in Job Corps you have to constantly remind yourself that you are there to be your own person. I would say 90 percent of the people there just fuck off and not take advantage of the free schooling. They have them throughout the united states and they will pay for your flights to and from the schooling. I went there for 3 years in Idaho.

I spent 2 hrs. making:

1. Crepes w/ filling made from raspberry, blueberry, cream cheese, mascarpone cheese, whipping cream and a bit of sugar. All from scratch.

2. Omletes with spinach, butter, mushrooms, white wine, tomatoes, onions, diced ham and yellow peppers.

3. Oven baked bacon.

I made my mother and my wife some Mothers Day cards using pictures of my son on nice semigloss paper, hand cut with full bleed. Overall it was a nice day, but I'm exhausted.

They should make a liner out of the Croc foam. No more smell and it dries in 2 minutes. I bet that Spaniard guy at Protec or whatever that company is that makes USD would like that idea.

@Monday: It's not too thin in terms of comfort, but too thin in that I can't get my cuffs tight enough now. I tighten the buckles until I run out of notches and the wings of the cuff are touching, and I still have space to move around side to side.

I've gotten used to it, but by the end of the session my skates always feel too loose.

Living in the first world, I never really noticed that every car/bus, every work place, every store I go into, every place I eat, every shopping area I walk through, my house, someone else's house and any other place I go has air conditioning running or some cooling method and a nice temperature. Cold water out of the faucet, cold drinks and food in the fridge, etc. Being outside isn't really much of anything because you'll spend more than half the day inside a nice cool place and you can drink ice water and eat ice cream and stuff.

Then I come here there's no A/C and not even fans, and forget about finding a cold anything to drink. Haha, it's the worst. I'm probably a few kg lighter than I was last month because of all the sweating all day and all night. The water I drink is room temperature, which means I might as well be drinking hot tea.
If I go outside I get sunburned in 10 minutes. I cannot wait for monsoon season in a month. Everyone says it's going to flood here this year and I hope it does. The water goes up to chest height and people still do everything as if they're not wet. Come on rains, come on Ganga maa, you can do it!

Anyway, I came to post that I was eating a samosa and feeding part of it to this street dog. This urchin man came up and sat next to the dog and started motioning for me to toss him some scraps too. I had plenty to give away but felt weird giving it to him instead of the dog. Then I realized how I was more concerned with the life of a chubby street dog than a human being who was not in his best spot in life. I've been conditioned to believe that a dog is better than a person I don't know, especially a homeless one. I felt bad.
