my last two skates were m12s and xsjados, and both feel like they have too much forward flex. is there anything simple i can do to limit the amount of forward flex or any brands of skate that have less? im thinking about skating in some of those ace ankle braces, my ankles always hurt halfway through a session :?

You can tighten the buckle or add some sort of hard extra material in the shaft of the skate to prevent the cuff from flexing.

Usd thrones don't have much flex, try those.

I've thought about going back to USDs, I rode them for years. Thinking about Salomons too.

With Xsjados you can move the ankle strap (and the loop holder on the tongue) up, if you haven't already, this will give you more resistance/support when flexing forward.

In a hardboot/conventional-cuff skate, you can try to impede the forward rotation of the cuff by putting some sort of shim between the back of the heel of the boot and the cuff. Or add plastic stiffeners to the tongue.

salomons flex forward a lot once they're broken in.
