im still wondering...is it actually possible to uste this "viewfinder" on the hv 30?cause it looks like not to me...im not a big fan of filming without it...

It's technically possible but it's not realistic. It's tiny, there's no eyecup, it doesn't pull out or tilt, and if you have any battery larger than the dinky stock one your nose hits it before you can get your eye up to the viewfinder.
It actually hasn't been a problem at all for me because I film all my long stuff on my tripod, so I'm using the LCD anyways. Even if the HV had a good viewfinder, filming hand-held long would still suck because of how small and light the camera is.
I'm juiced to see some new Wall Tossed In footage.

i was looking at this camera for a while now and heard nothign but good things and saw some awesome footage shot with it but this viewfinder thing bothers me a lot!
hell i even filmed all my fisheye stuff on my vx2100 through the viewfinder:-(
omggggggggggg walt austin used to be one of my favorite skaters when he was on usd back in the day

Yea the HV can/does put out amazing footage but what you're sacrificing to get that price point is ergonomics and separate/dedicated controls for things. For me it's worth it, as I don't mind putting a little more work into setting up shots, because I'm not usually trying to document everything that's happening at a session or whatever, I'm more focused on getting the one or two shots I'm picturing and if I get other stuff, cool.
Of course I'd love to have a prosumer/semi-pro camera like an XH-A1 or HMC or something, I'd done most of my filming before buying my HV on VX's so I'm used to the zoom and focus rings, dedicated controls, nice viewfinder, etc..... but I just don't have $3.000+ to spend, and it'd kinda go to waste anyways I think, for what I use my camera for.

looks good but i still think Hollywood skate park in Vegas in still ridiculously fun.one of the best parks in my opinion and ive skated a lot of parks. Im sure there are pics somewhere. If ever in Vegas check it out. Fortunate enough to have my parents out there to stay with.
