Really dude??? Notorious???? worst movie ever!!

"Mean Streets" also with Deniro and Harvy Keitel was fucking awesome....and a scorsese film just like taxi driver

Watch Deer Hunter....best acting and story i've ever seen....also stars Deniro. not a character study, but a study of humanity in general and what people will do in certain situations. nobody's ever put out anything like it. if for nothing else, youtube "deerhunter russian roulette scene"

if you liked taxi driver, you might like "Bringing out the dead....though i didn't. it's the same director, Scorsese...he was trying to do a taxi driver part 2 kinda thing, but an ambulance and Nicolas Cage instead of Deniro in a taxi wasnt the same

"Raging Bull", the True Story of Jake Lamotta is like number 7 on the AFI's top 100 list. also a scorsese film...and the first to pair Deniro And Joe Pasci, and the first to pair Deniro with Pesci. If you like the Duo, be sure to watch:
"Once Upon A Time In America"
"Goodfellas"
and "Casino".....all Deniro/Pesci films

Fancis Ford Copolla's "Rumblefish" was amazing

"Revolver" and "Rock'n Rolla" by guy richie are also 2 of my favorites

"True Romance" and "Reservoir Dogs" Tony Scott and Quentin

"Dog Day Afternoon" and "Scent of a Women"with Al Pacino (Pacino's only Academy Award)

"Children Of Men" i dont evern know what to say about this one

"In Bruges" is one of my Favorites....starring a bitter collin farrell

"King Of New York" is Christopher Walken at his best playing a crack lord in brooklyn

i got tons more so when youre done with the list just ask again

Brazil (you gotta be in the mood for this one, and you gotta watch it a few times. the movie has absolutely nothing to do with Brazil.....it's setting is strange=....set as what somebody in the 1940's would envision the 1980's to look like....and actually made in the 80's the film almost didn't get released in america because critics said

"it's too smart for american audiences"

"A Bronx Tale" (Directed by and co-starring Robert Deniro)

Knockaround guys (Vin Diesel makes the film, and i'm not a vin diesel fan)

The Machinist (Christian Bale was hostitalized after he lost like 50 pounds for the role)

Of course, "American Psyco" if you havent seen it

Donnie Brasco (Johnny Depp and Al Pacino)

Rich and I just watched Taxi Driver the other night and loved it. It's a mind fuck to think about just how different life was in that time frame, my parents where 22 during that time span. Cool to get a slight perspective on how their reality was. Aging is insane. Time is insane. Let's make out.

here's some good movies, maybe not the greatest movies, but still great movies. i know noone listened them, but im gonna read this post and check afterwards 8)

Afro Samurai (the 5 episodes, not the shitty ass resurrection movie). image a black samurai killing a fuckton of people, and samuel l jacksons in it. 8)

the 8 diagram pole fighters. baller ass kung fu movie 8)

beetlejuice. tim burtons a crazy man. 8)

death sentence. pretty solid action movie, good for watching a movie with a group of people. you know there's always that one asshole who wants to watch some faggoty shit like "never back down" or "the fast and the furious." this movie will appease him and its not a huge piece of shit. 8(

shogun assassin. another crazy ass kung fu movie. it's the summation of 5 movies, and kind of shortened, but still awesome. 8)

sweeny todd. great musical 8)

the good, the bad, and the ugly. one of the greatest westerns ever.... VERY FUCKING LONG MOVIE. great cinematics, incredible plot, a must watch before you die 8)

okay, so some people said what i did. but good choices 8)

Anything by Jim Jarmusch is epic. He just came out with a new one which I must see. ....

I love Jarmusch as well, but I went and saw his new film and I will warn you, it is really bad. I understand you'll probably go see it anyways, I did the same after warnings about Public Enemies (which is truly terrible), but 'Limits of Control' is really slow and makes absolutely no sense just like the trailer.

I've seen some other good movies noted in this thread.
Hunger - great film. Caught it at the Athens film festival
The Conversation - saw it in a film class. It was interesting, I think I need to see it again.
Burn After Reading - watched it this afternoon. Amazing. Absolutely ridiculous.

I do need to see the original 'Funny Games'

i just saw Punch Drunk Love recently for the first time, not knowing what i was getting myself into.

what a strange, intriguing movie that was. need to watch again.

also, since Jarmusch was brought up, i should recommend Dead Man in particular.

I don't think it has been mentioned yet but..... Network is a good film. Shows the truth about media, corporations, and people who aren't going to take it anymore!

Wait, wait, wait.

Did you just try writing Pi as Pie, then giving an explanation that you're referring to the "symbol."

Jesus Christ.

Burn After Reading is a fantastically fun movie. The ending was golden.

I was going through this thread looking for something to watch and thought I would recommend a movie that hasn't been mentioned yet.

I only saw this because it was showing for free at my school and this hot girl wanted to see it. I thought it was going to be a "wanks its self off, look how clever we are" hipster movie, but it turned out to be a whole lot better than that.

Moon was really good

Is this on the internet yet, or did you see it in theaters?

don't know if it's been said but "inside" it's a french movie and it's pretty crazy. I like slasher gore fest movies and that movie pushed it for me.
