I've been working overnights for just over a year and I plan on quitting if I reach the 1 1/2 year mark without being switched to a daytime shift.
I love my job, and I wouldn't quit it for anything.

I gotta find one of those when I get out of this truck stop excuse for a town.

Yeah, I can't fucking wait to leave. Nobody gets any hours anymore, and I would make more money each week on unemployment than I would working but can't get it because I still have a year left at school..

Seems like you have time to do it now.
Why not ban them right now?
There is a lot of clicking involved.

no, not until someone posts something you don't like,
Just a tip, Cash...
It's generally not a good idea to post personal information or pictures of family members on the messageboard. This can lead to said information being abused.
So I advize you to remove that picture of your mother from your sig.

I just found out that I am getting a 20% pay raise
i haven't even been here for a year yet and this is how they roll when someone does a good job and adds value to the company.

Do you work for the police?
They're usually the only ones that praise snitches and informants.

I don't understand raises like that. Especially because you are surprised so you had nothing to do with negotiations. You didn't demand it, so what reason does your company have to give you a raise? Doesn't make any sense to me from a business point of view, especially because you seemed to be happy with your salary as it was.

when i was hired on, i was hired on at an entry level payscale. the deal was that after 3 months (90 day probation period) i would get a pay raise depending on my performance and worth.
2 days before the supposed pay raise, the executive director announced a pay freeze that was to last all of 2009.
today i had a review and our board of governors decided to lift the pay freeze for all employees. my review was better than i expected and i was told that everyone is getting a pay raise, but mine would be significant because...well...they really like me and think i do an amazing job, i rarely miss work, shit like that.
so, i guess they are making up for stiffing me on the pay raise earlier in the year. everyone else is getting a 1%-5% pay raise.
i havent made any plans to quit my job........i love eating gourmet

Capitalism rewards hard work with better compensation.
Well, usually.

that, and i really do ad value to the company. i can fix the refrigerator when it craps out, i have fixed our postage stamp and paper folding machines on numerous occasions, laser printers, other people's computers even though we have an IT department, i help edit our magazine when my boss gets swamped, plus my normal job of graphic design. i find all the best deals when it comes to new office equipment and software. i have saved this company about $10,000 since last August just by being handy and saving on repair services form 3rd party vendors.
