what's the point of those cut-away parts on the Trust frames?

They allow you the option to grind on the heel or toe grooves but personally I find they prove useful for pushing off a curb or such if you have a tight run up. Traditionally I'd use the space between the 1st & 2nd wheels on an 8 wheel setup as you get more power but usually this isn't possible on freestyle.

I haven't got caught up with stones with extra grooves so its not nessarily a drawback as some people have mentioned in the past.

I use them when I go to the Great Smokey National Park. Their fast as hell going down hill grass, gravel or dirt. Its a little bit to get used to em' as there about 7-9inchs tall, and a 20inch wheelbase (all sizes have the same frame size.) and the brake is odd to unstable at high speeds. After you get used to em' there fun as hell, and fairly smooth riding depending on tire pressure.
