Too bad I have to use the red souls instead of the black ones.. But this has to be my dream set-up anyway, can't wait to skate them!

shit man, i have black ones back home that are in decent shape, i would have traded you in a heart beat because those would go great with my red 5050s.

I'm missing some screws, so the other skate has to wait untill I find some good ones at my parents house. Can't wait to try them, but so far I like the look of the original frames much better, and 63mm wheels = awesome. So I might end up switching back anyway.

Let me tell you a secret.

Kato didn't have to buy any RB products.

Julien from La Tole sent him pictures of different customized Razors skates.

Long story about these. Have been trying to set these up for nearly a year now trying to find the parts i needed and whatnot. Just got the liners which was the only thing left that i needed to have them complete. Black shells ( previously Billy O'niell Thrones), black cuffs, black buckles, Chrome 3 piece souls (souls are uhmw), chrome eyelets, black symbol on the shell, Reign team black and silver liners, black fiziks frames with home made uhmw black hitchhikers, eulogy 55mm bird wheels flat and crap bearings in them. Size 6 by the way.

I could be partly on my way to re-creating this skate aswell.

I managed to find the silver/chrome souls in my size, and black 3 piece backslides which i've been looking for forever. Got black Fiziks already, got black shells and cuffs, got metal USD buckles.

fast eddie

boot is 11.5, the soulplate is size Large.

i shaved more plastic from where the skates touch (backslide and fast slide area remain untouched), so the soulplate height is now .25".

any more than that, and you get some bending in the soulplates where the frame bolts go through. and that feels weird as shit. :x

I really want black xsjado souls with black frames, but these will do for now. Got to get rid of the gold, doesn't really fit with the tan.

I wasn't too fond of the groove and the low profile of the carbon souls, it didn't offer much boot protection (which I need because I seem to wash out a lot).

Love the xsjado souls and groove, it works well for me.

I've been wanting to do this for awhile and finally got my hands on a good pair.
I modded the boot as little as possible, leaving the toe and heel nubs on the boots.
I counter sunk some holes into the soul plates because warping boots is the worst!
What do you think?

I skated them "stock" for a session.
Most fun I've had skating in awhile!
But I've planned to do this mod for so long and already had the parts.
I couldn't back out..

They're not classic balance. They're balance cores. Pretty sure I have the only pair in tan/cream.
I only shaved the middle humps.
Left the toe and heel cause it almost never makes sense to cut those off.

No sir.
It's the same.
Those wheels might be bigger or something.
Mine are about 55-56mm
But I'm pretty sure those are 54.5mm even tho they say 58mm.

The soul plate is just as thin as the stock souls, so no, it's nice and low. :)

sweet setup. i dont get it, though, about classic thrones. i had a pair a while back and because the bottom of the boot isn't flat, there was like a space between my frames and the boot, i always worried that that space would make my frames more vulnerable to cracking, idk, maybe Al has some insight as to why the classic thrones are like that....

KillerCucumber

....because they were designed way before ufs and had frames that were one solid peice with the souls so it did not matter. And even the old fifty-fifty frames were made to fit the angle of the boot. The frames are going to be fine, I have NEVER heard of some one snapping their frames like that.

6-7 with the small frames. I usually skate size 2 feather lights on my skates but the larger size of the create originals are a bit longer than the feather lights so it didn't seem like a good idea. I'm a bit bummed on the size of these frames but we will see how it goes. I like the overall shape of the frames.

I am so glad you posted that setup, i really wasn't sure what size of Create Original's to get for my 7 Nimh's.

I skate size 2 F1's just now and i think they are the perfect length, but if the large Create Original's are longer than a size 2 GC i may just go with the smalls.

Also sell me those souls :)

yeah, KillerCucumber has it right.

Seeing as aggressive skates were modeled off of rec skates, boot molds took on characteristics like the raised heel, which was [in rec skates] supposedly there to keep you more on your toes while skating, which gave you more speed or maneuverability or something of that nature.

how do the frames ride?
Well, honest quick review from the two days I've been using them.

I don't like the size of the frames but that's just my preference that i'm sure I will get used to. The hardware is kind of on the soft side so they feel like they're going to strip quickly. Allen wrenches fall out of them easily. I tried multiple different wrenches and have this problem with all of them. The plastic insert things are already getting scratched. They grind pretty well though. I didn't use any wax at the skatepark today and didn't have any problems. The groove is pretty good right out the box. The side walls seem like they'll last quite a bit because they're rather thick. They're pretty basic. I wish they would make a medium size and I would enjoy them a lot more.

Village Idiot

They fit me too wide in the toes and they were uncontrollably light and small. I didn't like it. I'm picky with skates and it seemed the longer I skated them the more I realized they weren't for me. They made even the easiest shit scary for me, like dropping in. I was over it. Those are only 59s.

How easy was it to dye the white?
How did you do it?

CollinW
08.01.2010, 15:32
Pretty easy, its not perfectly black, a little bronzy but its close enough.

I just used a green scour pad to rough it up a bit, then I used a few coats of Fiebings Black Leather Dye. It goes on really easy and quick.

It dries pretty quick, and I used 2 or 3 coats. Didn't take long to finish, maybe an hour or so.

I had a session in them and I can see that the dye will rub off if its
fallen on enough but it's pretty simple to touch up with the dye whenever
you feel the need to.

This is the dye I used. Found it at a shoe repair shop.

Not a fan of how those frames look/fit those skates.

But I hope you like em!

I agree they do look a little small, i used to skate size 2 GC's which were perfect.

But i can still see my front wheels when i skate and that's all i'm bothered about.

I think they look good, they'd look great if the script was orange to match, though!

Yeah me too, i'm thinking about scanning the inserts they came with and changing the white script to orange.

Those liners are the worst ever though!

After an hour i put my white Vicious liners in and the skates felt 1000x better straight away, i'm gonna give them another chance though and see if they break in any better.

If not i'll just use my white ones, or try to get my hands on a set of V2 liners again.
