Set up is White C2 size 43 same ones ive had since decemeber but now with Vii plates size 42 (p.s no modding needed) new black cuffs, straps, Remz laces, super feet insoles and for the first time Create frames not to mention the flat m1 trinity and bones red :-)

Got to test a little yesterday on a gindbox and curb and am very impressed, going have to say after the first session im liking the CO more the my 2 sets of katik flats and found riding flat 57mm no problem what so ever, frames are so quick and solid!
As of the wheels untill ive had a chance to test the in the ramp i cant say to much but the combo is very fast and smooth, i swear these skates just keep getting better and better.

Oh and the Vii plate are much more my thing than the carbon plates, groove tricks where very quick and once slightly wore in the soul top side was perfect as well!

Black cuffs seem softer and flex very well, i ride my skate super tight so it all good!

About the grey soulplates thing. If you are really interested you should ask hedonskate if the grey color is equal to the sk ones. You should'n trust hedon pictures because the colors are always different to the real ones in many products. For example the featherlites 2 horn, the red ones. in the photos they are orange... also check green soulplate, it is clearly yellow...

Carbon2 size 10US, 50/50 core balance size large, 59mm M1 Trinity, and Bones Swiss Super 6 bearings.

The frames were white and I tried to die them dark green. I mixed 1 part plack dye with 2 parts green and it some how came out dark blue.

A bit of the ski thing with those long of frames but I like longer wheel base. Skated them and they felt slow at times. At the end of my session I realized cores are only supposed to take 58mm wheels and I had about 0.25mm of clearence. When I would weight the wheel they dragged on my soul just a tiny bit. Dremel will solve that. By the way, the M1 grip like crazy. Almost too much for my style. Love them so far and I still need to fix the wheels, heat mold them, and get good footbeds.

I dunno about carbons... I tried on a friend's pair for the first time yesterday. They were my size, and fit really good. however, the comfort was nonexisting, in a new pair of skates. I don't mind the stiffness, but they felt like bricks on my feet. How do you guys cope with that. I just need softer padding in skates, i don't mind thin liners.

Carbons are me gusta... They fit me perfect. Even better with sports socks. Have to tighten them really well to prevent them from dangling around my feet but that is all. Soulplate could be better though... Trying the VII plates next...

Same for me, first Time I put my feet in some carbon, they were super comfy. After the breakin period they feel even more comfortable.I actually roll some Seven and after 2 weeks I really love the soul : full tork are perfect with, and at first they were more slow than actual carbon2 soul. After 2 weeks of mostly street skating they re now pretty fast.
Just wait the bambrickz to put my Seven soul on. I Will keep my Seven boot to make some powerblade.

Better? Also, those are double buckled with Remz velcro buckles, and the Reigns, yes, absolutely fucking magical! Best setup, by far. Well, that is until I skate them and really feel them out. Rolling around on them feel great, I just have to feel them perform, and then I will have a definite review with older parts with newer parts. :)

From holding them and putting them on my feet, they really feel as light as carbon skates.
As for the fit, pretty much the same thing. People on here told me that skating a 10.5 carbon2, I should get a 10 in carbon free but that were bs. I bought a 10.5 and they are really perfect, a bit tight but need break in.

Hey everyone. I figured I would post up in here for my first post. I've been rolling off and on since '95. I just recently decided to pick it back up again after a 5 year hiatus but I'm finding out I'm pretty damn rusty since I'm older now (30) but even worse a little "rounder", haha.

Salomon Rob Thompsons
They're only lightly used because I'm in the military and was stationed overseas from 2005 to 2008. I had left my main skates back home and got an itch to skate again so I ordered these online and had them shipped to where I was at. Unfortunately I couldn't find any good spots and the cops were assholes so I ended up not using them much at all. I originally had put Kizer Type M frames on them when I bought them because they seemed pretty cool at the time, but I just put the original frames back on them this week so I can get used to rolling again.

Another reason I took the Kizer frames off was because I decided to put them onto these:

These were my bread and butter from 1998 to about 2004. You can see they're pretty scratched up. I even replaced the left soul/frame with a black one at one point. I'm glad I orginally got the Al Hooi Kizers since they're cream/tan and match pretty well with the ST8's. I think I'll use black Deshi Carbon soul plates cuz I can't find Salomon UFS soul plates anywhere! I was thinking about using those if I could find them along with the widebodies I took of the Thompsons. I just need to get some t-nuts and frame bolts. Anybody know if the 18mm frame bolts from AggressiveMall are too long because the 13.5mm are out of stock? If possible, I would like to use the Salomon frame bolts if I could find some.

The story on these is that when I was overseas and bought the Salo Thompsons, I was looking around on ebay and shit and saw these for sale so I bought them. The reason why is because I used to have a pair of Tarmac CE's before I got the ST8's. Unfortnately my mom threw them out when I first joined them military in 1998 thinking I wasn't going to need them. The Tarmacs were my very first true "aggressive" inline skate but they weren't my first skate. My first skates and what I started doing tricks on were actually a pair of Bauer hard boot skates that my friends and I modded. Anyway, I've got plans of refurbishing these up a bit, puting some new wheels and fast bearings and taking them out every once in a while for fun.

Well, those are my skates.

all that salomons lacked was a soulplate with a decent bs plate/groove. carbon and other plates solved this issue. also, keep in mind that skating has changed over time, thus skates that are light, responsive and flexible at the same time have got more attention. back in the days gens were all the rage because of their cool looks, decent sized souls and flexibility. Nowadays people complain about them being too bulky and heavy, and not delivering the "trendy" looks. times change, dude. but salo's have always been great skates.

they are almost a full inch higher than the skate, i have done the same thing to my carb 2s but vcut reg razor cuffs and had to cut them down almost past where the buckle mounts. as they sit now cut all the way down to the buckle they are still a little too high.

if they work for him sure but ill tell you the buckle it set way higher and eventualy they will be digging in

Yeah, they are slightly higher. The plastic comes in just about the top of the padding, but not quite enough to dig in (yet). The main modifications I made were to cut the arch at the back higher so they could fit properly and also flex forwards, v cut it along the tab at the top where it fold outwards and cut the tabs that go across the front. The second two mods weren't to make the cuff fit better, they just made it easier to pick them up by the carry strap without bashing my fingers and tie my laces.

I might have. I saw some back in June and they definitely looked too high. After trying it out though, I've got to admit they feel fine and that I was wrong. Need a little cutting down though, otherwise getting to the carry straps and laces is a nightmare.

Yes definately, I will be cutting these cuff pads down foot won't go back all thewat and inside ankles hurt because of double padding. But no other pains or weird pressure points anywhere else due to the style of the wrap...
