I already have a set of GC frames, so the frame setup doesn't matter, but comfort does. Are the m12 liners much better?

I'm just looking for a pretty basic skate that is light weight.

After a 7 year hiatus, I had been riding some carbons and liked how they felt. So basically I'm just wondering what to get now that I'm in the market, hope you guys can lend me some of your opinions, looking at valos, ssm, adapts, xsjados and usd carbons but open to all. Thanks

First time back in a while and there are a lot of new companies out that I'm not very familiar with. Just wondering what recommendation you may have for bearings? I'd like something equivalent to an abec 7 or so. I have some generic ones now that have not aged well and are terribly slow. I may just take them apart and clean them but may end up with a new set depending on your suggestions. Thanks in advance for any help!

Is it possible? I shaved my valo shell to the point where it fit perfectly onto the ssm soul plates. What I realized was that if it were skinned, it wouldn't fit at all. Do I shave it more until there's space between the soul plate and shell? Should I shave or dremel off part of the soul plate? At this point, I have no clue what to do.

I would skate em without a skin, but they're toe cut and I don't feel like losing a toe nail.
(Also, anyone in the socal area, I'm buying any size 7 skates. These valos are slowly dying on me)
Now I purchased SL's when they first came out, before I had ridden any of the aformentioned skates, and I returned them without even skating them. Just putting them on my feet felt wrong.

But suddenly I'm quite drawn to them and I can't explain why. Can anyone with similar skate brad experience do a compare and contrast for me? My biggest fear is a shallow bs plate.
Thanks dudes.

First, how big of a flat setup can you put in them? I've heard 62's with minor mods. What about 64's or bigger with major mods? It'll be on Carbon II's with no concern for what has to be done to the soul plate.

Second, if 62 is the biggest you can fit, where in the world are they sold? Been looking around online & it seems to be an incredibly rare/non-existent inline wheel size.

The goal isn't to really grind in them. I just picked a few sets of frames for $1, live next to a paved trail with hills, & want to go faster while getting my legs back in shape without spending $$$ on a PB setup.

This is my 1st post here! been reading the board for awhile so I thought its time I joined in!

UK skaters stand up! lmao.

Anyways, I have a question regarding the jug sox liners.

I ordered some from grindhouse in Germany witch was meant to be an upgrade from my stock 7.4 gen liners. when I received them I was disappointed to find they look pretty much exactly the same padding wise, never mind I thought they have the gel foot beds.

Took them out to check and found they are exactly the same as the stock liners! P###ed!!!

is this right? or was I meant to get gel foodbeds?

Thanks

*UPDATED*

So even though I've had these since Bitter Cold I really didnt skate much up until the past two weeks since the weather has become more favorable. I've disassembled one of the frames and there's some pictures below.

Despite the pictures I saw before I bought them, I did not realize they were a two piece frame until I opened the package.

Durability: Fuck these things are strong. I fall A LOT. My skates smash against the ground a bunch and the frames been taking the beating pretty well. I've slid out a number of times while getting used to the ride and they havent particularly been chewed up on the sides, but i attribute that mostly to the height of the wheels.

Feels: Good. Man. I skated the Arrow frames with 80mm wheels previously and they were very awkward on my baby feet. The combination of the height & length of the frames & wheels made me feel as though i was always falling backwards. With these, that awkwardness, while still there, is exponentially less, and I can do hblock grinds.

Grinds: The frames slide very well, whether on angle iron, metal coping, or concrete ledges. I have had no issues with front roys once I got low enough or frontsides/backsides/backslides/ufos.

Rolling: I got mine with clear red Kryptonics Rampage wheels that are 72mm in size & have an 82A durometer rating. They roll very fast but also get much softer when warm and rub against a number of different areas inside the frame. As you can see in the second picture, the wheels do rub the sides and also the inside wheels rub against the base where the frame bolts go through. I worry that as it heats up outside that they may have more problems and will probably replace them with slightly smaller, harder wheels.
