Seriously bootleg it. Get a crack or a torrent or whatever. Adobe is well aware how oft-pirated PS is and they give zero fucks. Their enforcement for personal use is near non-existant.

The same thing happens a lot with kickstarter- A bunch of people commit when it's new and fresh, then it slows down for a while, and then the procrastinators take it over the finish line at the end.
