i went to my room and found an old issue of daily bread with his "coming up" profile in it.
i'd had it for years and never knew he was in it until he told me a few monthes ago, haha.
    anyways, sorry i don't have a scanner.
What jon elliot wrote about him was great.

    the text reads:

"James Short is one of those skaters you hope to meet when you're on tour. amongst the crowd of kids who act and look the same, it's hard to set yourself apart the way James has. When I first met him, we were in Detroit at Airborne skatepark. He had decided not to skate any of the ramps. Yeah, thats right, flatland as hell. It was actually refreshing seeing our industry's "Rodney Mullen" doing the most technical roll to grind to roll to grind to roll to grind... kids take note. James is not only a good skater, but a good musician as well. He is a classically trained bass player whose influences include punk, classic rock, and classical music. He's here to stay, so prepare your minds for his creativity boost.
    - Jon Elliot."

James, you will be missed. You were great the short time i knew you.
    you're a legend.
    rip..

Fuck. James was such a good guy. I'll always remember the times skating with him in Detroit and when they'd all come up for the AMS/Midland/Bay City sessions when I still lived up there. RIP. You will be missed, James.

I've know James since he was just a kid. Rolling around with us and always just being a positive person. When I got the news, a piece if me died. He will be forever missed by me and many. I've only talked to him through aim every once in a while over the past few years, but he always found a way to brighten my day. I will miss him.... I hope heaven had a skatepark.
