fuck, i got the call from stefan today, and in mourning rode around the city smoking weed and listen to the band and just reflecting upon the time ive known him.

when i was just a little junior in high school james short was one of the only skaters outside Nashville to talk to me, and we became brothers. I remember when him and I started the Jolly Jolly Heartbreaker thing. I was really looking forward to skating with him again in the not too distant future, but I guess that is never soon enough.

I love you James, you will be missed my friend <3

Just got back from the candle lighting ceremony.
    It was beautiful.
We even had helium balloons that we wrote messages on.
    Then we left them off.
God I cant believe he is gone.
    RIP James Short

^James and me loading inventory from the recently closed Airborne Skate Park into mine and Dolega's cars.

^James riding passenger in Dolega's mini-van, transporting the old Airborne goods to a brand new Octona Skate Shop.

James, may you proceed to kick ass into the afterlife.

i honestly can't remember the last time i've cried so much. i've just been jamming to eagles of death metal all day and crying my eyes out. i never realized how much james had an impact on me until the past 4 days when he was in the hospital, just so many good positive memories with him.

Nah, don't be sad. That would bum James out huge-time. Instead, drink a PBR, smoke a Marlboro red and jam some Zeppelin.

I don't smoke or drink, but I did the Zeppelin thing all day today. I think he'da been proud.

I don't even know what to say, I almost shed a tear reading all of this. I didn't know James at all or had never met him, but he did affect my outlook on skating, not to take it so seriously and to just have fun. James, you will be missed.

Toe Roll In Peace, James Short!

that is so fucking terrible i only knew him from this messageboard but he seemed like one of the coolest dudes. its great how hard the rollerblading community is impacted by this though, we're such a tightly knitted group and are deeply saddened when we lose a fellow rolllerblader

I'm thinking the bigger reason we're all impacted by this loss is because James fuckin' got around. He was always traveling, bunking with rollers on all coasts and making friends everywhere he went. Yeah, we've got a tight-night community here, but it's simply because of James' rad personality that we're all hit hard by the loss.

    Whatsup guys.

We had a really nice get together at the Phila. skatepark tonight.

I'd say probably upwards of 200ish people. Everyone with their lights on, skating and talking, hugs and tears.

You couldn't walk a foot without hearing a story or memory that someone had about/with James.

    As of right now,
The calling hours are either going to be Wednesday or Thursday, With the Funeral on Thursday or Friday.

I know that doesn't help too much, but since he was hit by a drunk driver, they have to do legal stuff and have a autopsy.

These last 4 days have made me realize how precious life really is. Yeah, it's really cliche to say that, but I never realized how true it was until now. I've never, ever, ever had a death affect me at all until now.

James was such an amazing person, inside and out.

Like I said earlier, his dad wanted to get on here and thank everyone for the support. I gave him my username/PW and hopefully he'll get on within the next couple of days.

If everyone could send me or Stefan all of their pictures they have of James, that would be amazing, Just send it in a PM or something.

Tomorrow we're all going to the local coffee shop and getting some Iced Chai and I'm going to the accident site.

I don't think it's sunk in yet, but I'm sure tomorrow morning i'll have another good cry session.

    I love you James, JJHBforLIFE</3

    Thats what I've been saying.

Just a few days before we built a box, pvc.

Its just hard to think, I can't call James and ask him to go skate, or to grab a bite to eat, or anything.

I'm going to try to get some sleep, I'll post up stuff tomorrow if it's needed.

Keep replying to this thread, put in memories, good times, etc. His parents read this and I'm sure they'd like to hear some stories.

    And yes, all of them.
