Thats exactly the opposite that happened to me. My Valos felt floppy and heavy and I hated the raise heel

    UPDATE

Day 2, Davenport Skatepark session, bowls, hips, ledges

So after day 1, which consisted of a mini session with tons of little kids, i took to an outdoor park, concrete, with tons of ledges, hips, pools, whatever, just a great flow park. Started messin' around, souls and whatnot on rusty ledges (angle iron rusted due to bikers), they usually require tons of wax. yet my first soul i laced the entire 20 feet. Kinda scared me to be honest, haha.

with Xsjados, i could back torque and royale anything due to the large royale plates, yet never felt in control. I could always get them locked but only hold a farv for like 10 feet max. I tried it in my Valos today, laced the entire ledge 3rd try, along with most of the ledge back torqued. The control on these grooves is unreal, not too fast, not too slow, just perfect sliding for max control.

Also today i noticed how well the weight was distributed in these skates. I realized, finally, that the reason xsjados feel so floppy is because they are bottom heavy. I could never put my finger on that fact until trying these valos. The weights is perfectly balanced, making the skate in a complete setup feel quite light, with no real points of heaviness. Sure, carbons will be lighter, but o well, these are a good weight IMO.

I am liking the liners too, however, after my 3 hour session, my ankles are a little raw, but my socks were damn thin, so o well.

These skates have given me a new found love for skating. i could care less about going big or anything, cuz with these, even the simplest soul feels perfect

    81? Plz explain 81?

roces old majestic 12 boot lies beneath the skin of valos. roces started in around 1981 or so.
rollerblade and roces have been whoring out that boot ever since. and even tho there has been 100's of "revolutionary" skates to come out since(remz, xsjado, deshi), in 2009 the hottest skate is the valo broskow using that boot with a bunch of shit mounted on it
Just because they started in 81, doesnt mean they started making rollerblades or better yet used that exact mould in 81.

    try maybe 91?

The bootshell that Valo uses is about thirty years old. It was actually used for ice skates before inline skating started. Roces was Rollerblade's manuafacturer for years before Rollerblade moved their stuff to Asia and Roces started selling skates themselves.

Jon Julio is not gonna pay you for this. Or maybe someone from the Xsjado team banged your girlfriend, I dont know, because this "reviews" (based on skating one day with kids and a session the second day on a skatepark, how deep) cant be less objective

xsjadoARE THE GREATEST SKATE EVER TO LErN

Valo's have been a mixed bag for me. Sometimes I feel like they're the best skates ever and skate amazingly in them, but other times I hate the way they feel on my feet. I love the fact that they're a "full cuff" skate but you can still point the toe, but because of that they're pretty floppy. The shell fits my foot perfectly, but the liner sometimes makes my feet numb on the balls of my feet, probably need a new insole.

The thing that bugs me most though are the soul plates. Don't get me wrong, they grind amazingly but how much farther away from your foot can they be? They feel completely unnatural and I feel so disconnected from everything I grind. I can't get used to it either, I ribbed myself so hard today skating a rail because I thought the soul was closer than it actually was, and missed completely. I just can't get used to it.

problem i had with xsjado is similar, either too loose and floppy, or tight enough but dug in at random places.

just to throw this into the mix, i also dislike the new carbons, razor gen shalls ftw.
I had the same problem with xsjados, but the new ones (specifically the DW1s) IMO don't seem to have it so far.

So youre saying you cant learn if you like a skate or not from 6 hours of skating? I guess in some cases, you cant, but i felt i got a pretty good vibe for these skates already. If you can do all your tricks confidently in a new pair of skates within a 2 days, dont you think thats a positive? I didnt badmouth xsjado either, im just saying i like these better. I know julio isnt going to pay me, but nice thought as to how shallow i could be when saying i like a skate.
Cant win em all i guess.

If I werent riding xsjados right now (those ones that apparently are sloppy and cant grind on them more than 10 feet) I'd be riding Valos, Im just saying youre exagerating (sp?) and overhyping them. By the way you talk about them, i'd expect them to make me skate perfect by magic. Lets be serious.

am i the only one that doesnt like valo?

dont get me wrong i support jon julio but i dont like the fucking skates at all...
The liners are flimsy and hurt my ankles.... I for one actually hate doing torques in them...
I do actually like the soulplates though

I think valo's are sick..... but the liners is what makes or breaks them. I had the oli short m12's and the where the fire. they make eveything you do feel so precise. but the I got the baileys and they felt like shit. I mean total shit. but then I realize it was the liners that where sucking ass. I put the oli liners in them and then they felt amazing like my m12s did, except I had a better grinding soulframe system. oh and my theory on xsjado's is if you fit the small skeleton then you will love them and think they are amazing, but if you have to rock the large skeleton then they will feel stupid and sloppy. I mean if you think about..... i'm pretty sure the whole team wears the small skeleton.

oh and thanks for the history lesson al

I did the same thing as you, switched from Xsjados to Valos. I liked them for about a week and then realized Xsjados are far superior. I did the same thing with the Aragon 2s as well except I skated those for almost a year.
