Also, hit up your guidance office since they tend to have more local ones. As for me, I applied to a bunch, mostly local ones, but this is all I scored.
Some award from the Marines. Just a certificate I got at the year end assembly. No money.
A B'Nai Brith award which is an Jewish organization (I'm not Jewish). They gave it to one athlete from each school in the county. We had a nice awards dinner and everything, but once again, no money.
Then finally I got this thing called the Imagine America Scholarship (or maybe it was a grant?). Basically $1,000 and the only requirement is you're going to an art school. I was under the impression that these were really easy to get. No essay or anything, just filled in information.
I applied for a million but all I got was the honor college scholarship to my school, which is still decent because I get 2 grand a semester and first pick at classes. Good Luck.
For some reason my school gives me $1000 each year. It's supposed to be some sort of scholarship, but I don't remember ever applying for it.
goto church, american legion lions club or if your smarts are up write something about being awesome. and submit it to me ill pay you to get educated. only catch is you gots ta buy me shit like cars and skates and ill ride the note. and if you cant get a job ill hire you to clean my shop, vehicles office ect.
I have a pretty decent academic scholarship to my college for both undergraduate and graduate school for the program that I'm in. I got them for doing well on standardized testing and stuff, but I wish I was more ambitious and actually applied for other ones. Try fastweb and other scholarship websites like that, I suppose.
I got $2000 for doing good on a test.
Don't just go for scholarships, look up grants also.
Find a school and go to that councelor and inquire about it.

nah, i don't qualify for pell grants. i qualify for some stafford loans which i usually take, but i don't consider those financial aid since they are loans (FAFSA and loan system is complete bullshit).
What colleges does everyone attend?
I'm at Ohio State. Anyone else from a Big Ten school?
Is there a skate park on campus?
I go to the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. I've never heard of a college with a skatepark on campus.
In Florida they have this thing called Bright Futures
Bascially if you get a 3.0 and 1100 on your SAT or 24 on your ACT you get 75% of your tuition payed for by the State. (This is of course if you go to a Florida University such as FSU, UCF, UF, FAU, UNF, etc)
A step higher is medallion is 3.5 and 1200 on your SAT or 28 on ACT. This covers 100 percent on your tuition.- I have this.
Its only good for 4 years, but it is definately helping me and my family save a lot of money, and it's one of the reasons I'm stuck here in Orlando.
