those are just the urban series skates.

the new aggressive skates will most likely still have aircraft carriers mounted to the sides.

The new RB urban skates use the Solo boot and come stock with those little souls.

    basically

rollerblade decided they didnt want to put money into a bottomless pit that is aggressive rollerblading

so to cut costs, im guessing they got a rec skate boot, put a pair of tall cuffs on, some widebodies, and bam, a whole load of money saved

No, they developed a whole new boot with both uses in mind. Urban skates have always had heavier-duty/stiffer boots than rec skates, and almost all of them have used the UFS standard, so using one boot/liner/cuff for both makes sense.

I haven't skated them yet. My friend Alex Coe got a pair of size 8's off a team rider for cheap, and we were thinking it was an 8-9 shell, so we'd be able to just swap to a size 9 liner (we're both size 9), and we were going to do a co-review (COE REVIEW GET IT LOLZ), but they turned out to be an 8-8.5 shell (which is a good thing, just not in this situation) and they didn't fit either of us. So I've had them apart and crammed my foot into them and examined them and all that, but I haven't actually skated them.

Yeah what he said. But for the bottom line they aren't horrible skates. Not perfect, of course, but what skate is?

First person to answer that question is an idiot!

Alex, is there anything in particular that you Don't like? I'm a bit dubious about the soul/backslide area, but everything else about the skate just seems to make me think it's gonna skate amazingly! Rollerblade are pretty much the only company around right now that really has SICK materials too so that interests me too. Basically I just need Salomon back in my life.

i would very much like a pair of the urban skates. that really is a good market because there isn't much out there for the guy that doesn't just grind all the time but doesn't want to look like a sally commuting on some rec blades. to tell you the truth, i would be willing to throw some 5050s on them and ride some park, only they don't have a bs plate/groove , so...

I have the X7's which is the same only has 90mm wheels instead of 80's. They are far superior to any other rec or urban skate I have put on. They have the best support by far and with the right insole they absorb shock really well.

I bought them with the intention of buying soul plates to put on when riding aggressive, but couldn't wait and rode the park in them, Royales are awesome but I don't suggest it on a ledge. The soul plates are super fast and will make these young suckerbladers learn to lock tricks/ Again you can't ride these plates on ledges or for an extended period, but you can buy soul plates and have one universal skate.

They are sick. The new RB mold is perfect because I have been on the lookout for a good urban skate for 18 months or so. I haven't really ridden RB's for long since the Paw's, until now.
