It's the first Nimhs for budget or aesthetic reasons, I assume.

I voted Nimhs. Souls last longer, liners are better, and skater-owned. Grab some Razors buckles and the frame of your choice and some Eugooglies, then swing by the hardware store and grab a cheap 4-in-1 rasp/file to do the groove and shave the toe, and you're set.

The cults are tight-looking, more so than the nimhs actually IMO, but the liners suck and the souls die pretty quickly, plus they have that annoying rocking/tippy factor, and the skin makes tightening the laces pretty useless.

i'm not exactly sure but i would say size 9 razors. because of getting hand-me-downs i had to take what i could get. i'm skating size 8 roces now, skated 10.5 classic razors, 8.5 ufs thrones, 10 xsjados. i will be buying them at a shop so i'll be able to try them on because i heard nimhs sizing is weird

Nimh sizing is the same as the Cults's sizing... same shell and the liners are very similar. The exception to this is that Nimhs have the cut toe, obviously, so if you're at the very bottom end of a shell size you might be able to squeeze into the smaller shell. Sounds like you're solidly in the 8-9 shell anyways so this isn't really a concern for you.

The liners in the V1's run a little tighter than the newer models apparently, but they do break in, so as long as you're in the right shell size, having the liners be a tad snug at first is probably a good thing.

haha i actually do want valos but i'm on a budget. i <3 my roces to death

al, thanks for all your help. i'm confused with the whole toe thing in the nimhs. are they already cut? is the plastic there and it's an option to cut them? i'm not concerned with the grooving but i was never clear on the toe job. i'm extremely lazy and don't want to have to worry about having to maintenance if i don't have to. lastly, i know the stitching is redesigned on the second model, but do the first versions tear easily? i won't feel like/be able to afford new skins...if they even make them

get the razors bud. cheaper, and they look sicker. and it's the same skate. only pro for the nimh is the liner. no one touches the elliott backslide plate.

    get the razors.

and you actually CAN tighten the laces. i just got a pair of the cult 8s with vicious liners, and they fucking rock.

soul plates do not last as long, but they're also lighter, look better, and have (as already mentioned) the sickest backslide plate ever.

do the right thing. get the razors.

The shell is already cut. What I was referring to with the rasp is taking down the toe on the soulplate, as it's a little chode-ey (sticks out over the front wheel). Just a cosmetic thing. Sorry for the confusion.

    Haha, you're welcome.

Fizzle and I were just talking about what skates we thought you would get.

Either way, it's going to be weird seeing you in new skates.

nimh ... i got the original nimhs around november of 2007, right when they came out. i got new skates cause i like the way the white ones look. not cause i needed new parts or anything. in fact, i took my old soul frames off and put them on my new skates. the only skates that i've EVER had that have lasted longer than nimhs were 5th elements and those were tanks.

denial week ... week 10 ... august 9-15 ... where will you be this summer?

Al, if I am coming from a size 11 in the K2 Nemesis style boot, what size Nimhs v2 should I get? I do not have wide feet, just fantastically large feet.

I have never in 12 years of skating put on a Razors boot, so I don't know if they are narrow.

I'm sure I asked about this a few months ago, but I don't think anyone answered.

I bought the nimh v1 from neglected truth for 130 boot only. i had never skated razors before but i've skated every other brand.
I bought a size 11 as this is my shoe size and was worried they'd look huge but if you get the right size frames they actually looked smaller than many other size 11 skates i've had.
The liner was a little snug even with the toe cut but it quickly broke in and feels great. it is by far the most solid feeling/sounding skate i have ever owned.
so far the skin had been pretty durable(about 3mos.) and i think it looks much better than the cults. I have never liked the look of any razors. The souls are super fast and the Backslide breaks in so nice.....actually improved my skating.
i skate them with size large trs switch frames with 72mm outside 47mm inside. just grinded out the wheel wells.
My favorite skate in over 14 years.
