Dude, the fact that they go to Hardvard doesn't mean shit, in fact a lot of people that graduate business there, fail at life because they can't make the difference between real life and the theory bullshit from school. I am not saying that school is not important, I am saying that especially for business, graduating from a reputated school doesn't mean nothing.

Truth is that most western corporations don't give a shit about what school you went to and some won't even look at your resume if they know you are a recent ivy league grad. At UPS we had some new harvard grads working in the IE department, they all quit within two years because they weren't given the the top manager jobs they thought they deserved. Cigna healthcare released an internal memo years ago saying that community college applicants get priority over the ones who went to the big expensive schools. In the end most of the grads from that school will end up being middle managers who drive the cheapest BMW they can afford in an attempt try to look rich.

hahahah i think graduating from harvard means more than "keeping it real" at community college.

you just made me break my pact to say that you are a fucking idiot. People that go to good schools do WAYYYY better than people that go to some shit school. I know two Harvard grads, and both make bank in jobs in their fields. The people that get into High reputation and prestigious schools are a shit load smarter, and more motivated than you or me. so that alone means that they will be set in life. And yeah companies like UPS and USPS aren't going to look at harvard, yale, or oxford grads... because they are WAYYY overqualified. It also depends on the field too, if you go to harvard for architecture, or physics, you are almost guaranteed a high level job in your field. But something like Psychology or Environmental Sciences.. not so much simply because you don't need a harvard level degree to get a job in those fields.

YEA!!!! I also I know one, or two people who support whatever point i'm about to try and validate in the next few sentences I'm about to write. sentences. sentences. sentences. There for this general view on an abstract, and ambiguous subject matter of which I have really no direct/empirical knowledge of must therefor be true. Did I mention that you were wrong?

You are just being wrong on this one. Stop saying stereotypes please. There are plenty of people who go there just because their parents want them to go there or/and have been brainwashed about it, not because they are smarter!

There are plenty of successful businessmans that didn't graduated university, the foundator of Microsoft and Dell are just two exemples out of a lot.

And as for your exemple of "I know 2 persons that gratuated Harvard and they are teh shit", well I know a person that graduated business there and he completely fails at life because he obviously has no fucking idea how the real world works.

And by the way, the fact that you learn physics or architecture in a prestigious school also doesn't work. Somebody with a natural talent can be shitloads more successful in their domain that somebody that goes to Harvard.

Next time, think a little bit instead of rushing to your keyboard to call me an idiot.

this post is so fucking stupid. can somebody delete this? first of all, my brother is getting his MASTERS at HBS, not undergrad. my brother is paying the $200,000 tuition himself from the money that he saved from working on wall street at Morgan Stanley for four years. not only did he save that much money while living in one of the most expensive cities in the world, but he also got me and my mom a bunch of nice shit. you don't go to harvard business school to "get a job", you go to HBS after you've already spent a couple years working at another job, and deciding that you want to be a millionaire before 30.

so all you fucks that think that "oh HBS is just like regular skool lol, its a recession", you guys are fucking stupid.

there isn't some secret business book that the ivy league schools have access to while others don't. all schools generally teach the same material. however, harvard will probably have a professor that actually worked on wall street or as a high level executive while your community college won't. regardless, that is all a moot point anyway because everyone knows the main reason to go to harvard is to make contacts. you're not going to meet people in community college that can help you get a 6 figure senior executive job once you graduate.

Sounds like some ppl are QQing in here because they don't have access to such schools. While I agree that just because you go to a nice school a nice job isn't SURE to follow, but if you get in a nice school like that and take your education seriously and apply your self then I would say it gives you a slight leg up. Not because of the name but because big schools like that have good speakers and I would hope good teachers.
