one flash?....the first one is alot better but both have really harsh shadows i would have pulled the flash out a little to soften it if possible and maybe tried some diffrent angles with that flash myabe elongate the shadows by placing the flash right at the skater (90 degree angles from camera in 2nd picture) and raised it up as well. one flash is tough though.
