Default New Indoor Park Opening in Rochester...

I've been watching the progress of this place on facebook, and it's starting to come together. Unfortunately it won't be opening until it's warm again, but should be pretty freakin sweet once next winter comes around. It's going to be called the Rochester Action Sports Park (RASP).

    A couple of previews:

I don't quite understand the mini ramp, but whatever. It'll be fun, I'm sure.

I think I was hearing May, but that might be wrong. Definitely by next winter, which is all I care about.

I would have a hard time calling the Eisenbergs mini awesome, complicated minis look like fun, but I always find myself just wanting a plain 6ft thats at least wide enough to carve into a good hit on the coping.

As far as this park goes, I'm skeptical of its success, looks like overbuilding, which was a problem with our last park, but our last park was run horribly. I hope this one makes it, just trying not to get too excited about it until its survived a little while. Should be good for the scene which is never bad.

I went there the other day, there is a super wide quarter pipe next to the mini ramp, it will be really fun for long coping grinds. It also will have a 21 foot tall wall ride with a fly box next to a wall for wall rides (the wall is in the left), which will be really fun for sure. I talked to the main builder and it seems he is open to suggestions for what else to build, their is no blue print for the park besides a vague one. I'm going to try to convince him to build a park that is in everyones favor, including rollerbladers. Wish me luck!

that doesn't sounds promising, although stuff so far seems laid out well enough

whatever you suggest, keep it simple

maybe some sort of bank to ledge, everyone loves a bank to ledge...bank to ledge!

Small ramps/boxes that can be moved around, probably not important at this point in building, but something to think about so that extra stuff that people only skate every once and awhile doesn't get built just to look fancy

I am going to not get my hopes up... i feel like the first X-dreams cursed rochester seeing as every park in the area closed down within two years of it being open, and the second x-dreams wasn't exactly great which also went out of business... im sure it will be fun though no matter what.

Their is going to be a section of the park designated for this.

I'm going to fight for some long coping ledges, like an up across down setup, or down ledges, or an A ledge setup. Btw the designer/builder is the same one that helped design/build spinners and the last two x-dreams.

Yea its too bad, they should have just kept it the same height all the way across, would have been so epic
