Default Issue with the new Xsjados

Only a small issue, but was just curious if it is common.

Got the new Red Stockwells, and went to adjust the back pad that is connected to the cuff. The adapter is connected to the inside cloth of the pad. When I went to take out the bolt, the adapter kept rotating inside of the pad, and finally ripped the cloth.

Has any1 else had this problem? I emailed the conference to get these replaced, because there is nothing more irritating that having a brand new pair of skates, especially Xsjados, where you can adjust them to your liking because of a malfunction.

I had the exact same problem with my Farmer 2s. I think it is a pretty common problem.

Well obviously you shouldn't keep wrenching on it once it's apparent that the t-nut is spinning. Grab it, through the fabric, with a pair of pliers, and you should be able to get the screw out just fine.

Oh, and before everyone goes spouting off about Powerslide, this was an issue even with the Salomon-produced Xsjados. It's just a weak point in the design of the skate.

I tried this and couldnt get the T-nut. The fabric was too thick to get a sold grip and it started damaging the fabric when I tried going deeper. I really am not trying to bash powerslide either. Love their products and have never had a problem. I have had 4 pairs of xsjados and never once had this problem in the past, so I posted on here to see if it was common or if there was anything Powerslide could do about it aka, replacing my cuff pads. Sucks because I dont believe I can buy these, or at least the new style with the Neoprene patch on the top, which btw I think is a great improvement in the design.

On my farmer 2's, I use shoes lace to resolve the problem of this boot. I saw a picture of Pierre Akrich on a french mag, use this system.
    It's great.

I did'nt know if this is the same problem on the new xsjado.

Watch the right foot, (white part)

Had this before with Salamanz, what Al said...

Anyone experiences on how the padding is holding up on the blue Stockwells? This shit was so weak on the Wilsons...

I have the new Red Stockwells, not the old ones, so the same skates as the blues.

The problem I was addressing in this topic is just a small one, and a minor defect in some of the design, but regardless, I will continue to support this company, was just merely trying to get some feedback to see if anyone else has had this problem since I have had numerous pairs of Xsjados and never once had this problem.

The materials in the new models are improved a ton. Straps are longer and sturdier by far AND my favorite improvement is the addition of a neoprene material to the top of the back pad that connects to the cuff. Makes the pad much more comfortable when riding, since I did have some irritation from the pad in previous models.

Slight adjustments, but make a HUGE difference in my book.

People bitch about Xsjados never changing, but I think that's bullshit. Its like comparing a 2009 car to a 2010 model. The body style hasnt changed at all, but the engine and Interior has been improved 100%.

The intention of this Topic wasnt to bash on Xsjado, I was just curious if this was a common problem to others, since Ive had 4 pairs of Xsjados, all from different batches, and never once had this problem. Sorry if my intention was a bit grey.

Had the same problem on my basic 09's. What I did was try to put the wrench key a bit under an angle while rotating the bolt. You should pull the bolt also under an angle at the same time. This way the adaptor gets grip against the cuff. The adaptor came out of the padding a little bit, but I could just push it back. For me it's no problem since I like the padding in the higher position so I won't change it back anytime soon. An additional problem I had was that the spacers in between the padding and the cuff all broke in half while I had them in my hand and looked at them I replaced them with M5 nuts...

What's up with that neoprene? is it only since the 2010 models? And where is it put along the entire padding or just locally?

Another point for improvement (because the Conference people will probably read this): I don't like that the outsole of the footwraps are not connecting to the cuff area anymore (heel lift). This was much better in the salomon models...

Overall I agree that a lot of points have improved already and are maybe even better since Salomon. Like the material under the ankle strap.

I wish xsjado souls weren't so slow=[. Best skates besides that.
