kinda a huge deal. we will see the 4/3's choice is really interesting. This is what I have been waiting for, unless the scarlet really has something going I doubt its going to take this guy out. the next step is the resolution jump. Glad to see panasonic get into the game here....and I just read that sony has something to compete too.

Pany knows how to make a good sensor....same for sony really....you look at how good the latitude is even off the varicam and or cinealtas which are 2/3" cameras....with a sensor double that size....this thing could be good....really good.

I haven't bought a camera in 4 years....I'm ready to consider putting my money toward this one though.

same here haven't bought a camera in four years. finally a camcorder that may compete with the canon mkII in terms of image quality and lenses choices....

Also, nobody mentioned the fact that because this thing has no Lens, it will also have no lens control .... so add a nice lens, follow focus, and zoom controller....

I feel that once you start getting into the $10k+ range, you're better off just renting so that in a year or two, you aren't sitting on a paperweight that you want to replace again with the newest and greatest.

I'd just wait another year for the next gen HDslrs...the technology is bound to make some large leaps very soon...

Personally I'm done buying cameras. For serious projects it's all about rental anyway. But I have to say on paper, it seems to be the camera I dreamed of years back in the day...ho well...

i just really like shooting to cf cards =].. still i wouldnt buy that camera.. i use to own the z7u. sold it and got the 7d with all that jazz in hopes to use till the scarlet came out.. but the 7d jello and stuff like that, i did not like.. yaa

ive seen footage from the xha1 and it looks crappy.. thats not an xha1 though .. but i do like that it shoots to 2 cf cards.. its about time they got ahead with the game! i am still diggin and lookin forward to getting the red scarlet.. that panny looks like a good thing though too.. I am looking to buy a camera soon, i had the 7d and didnt think it was all that but still a good camera.. but its nothing compared to the scarlet or even that panny... soo yea.. i wanna film and im pumped!
