replay value now is based mainly on how good the multiplayer is and how good the online system to make multiplayer works. Halo 2 dominated for so long because it was the only game on the first xbox to do online gaming well. then on the 360 other games caught on and figured out what bungie already knew. there r still a few single player games i can think of that came out post 2000 that had great replay value(gta vice city, gta san andreas, splinter cell, bio shock, assassins creed sure theres more i cant think of). Good multi players is what makes a game now, with out that shit will be done with in a month.
I have to disagree. While Mirrors Edge wasn't brilliant and I didn't play Dead Space, it was a step in the right direction. You only have to look at what's coming up. Bulletstorm, Crysis 2, Dead Space 2, Medal of Honor, Skate 3, MMA. And before that Mass Effect, Bad Company, Skate, Battlefield 1943, DragonAge Origins, Dantes Inferno, Saboteur, L4D 2. Granted, not all of them were developed by them or a sucess but they were taking risks at least. And I think it paid off.
I was getting sick of the constant NFS, FIFA and Tiger Woods games every year but now they do actually put out some geat games alongside those ones. And my gripe with Activision is'nt even the COD games.
And if youve got a PS3, you need Demons souls:
Im considering getting a ps3 just for this game alone. Hard games = My kind of game. I enjoy a few fails before I succeed (sp?)
bazodazo and Espen rules all
o i almost forgot, the best single player game of the last 10 years to me has to be Olivion elder scrolls 4. i know we had a thread about it recently, but damn did i waste a shit load of time on that game and would do it all over again.
then there are rumors, cryptic statements from Bethseda, ect.Source: Redacted court filings obtained by Fallout fansite Duck and Cover as well as industry hearsay from British gaming site VG247.
What we heard: In 2007, Bethesda Softworks parent company Zenimax Media formed Zenimax Online, a massively multiplayer online gaming arm headed by Mythic Entertainment cofounder Matt Frior. At the time, Zenimax was hush-hush on what the branch, which was given access to some $300 million in funding, was at work on. However, speculative eyes soon turned toward an MMORPG devoted to Bethesda's celebrated Elder Scrolls fantasy franchise, after Zenimax registered the URL elderscrollsonline.com.

DLing Oblivion and DLC's from D2D. It definitely was one of the best Single player RPG's but I would not say the best of the past 10 years.

Hmmmmmm, I dunno? I wouldn't mind a 4 player a co-op but to make TES into a MMORPG? And I agree on the single player thing. There's not enough great ones around right now. Last ones I enjoyed were Assassins Creed 2 and DragonAge Origins.
fucking oblivion. i think i left that game as a vampire. don't want to deal with that right now.
