Default Ever mess up at work

Ok, I work at a design studio.

Have had this job on the go for months now, its such a small pathetic job.

Client (our biggest) keeps changing her mind back and forth, so I get a request in today for a change to some artwork. I went to forward onto my other designer with a note saying "I think she is being difficult on purpose now!"

little did I know I had actually sent it back to the client it came from.

I immediately shit myself and then sent her another email saying

"please disregard, this message is concerning another order. My apologies"

That was 2 hours ago, no response yet.

This has all the potential to create a huge shit storm, will keep you posted on if I get fired or not

You're fucked. Disrepecting clients is the worst thing you can do. If she reads it, I have no doubt in my mind you'll get fired. Good luck.

I haven't killed a patient yet, so nope. Oh wait, I'm a pathologist so my patients already come pre-killed. Nevermind.

Thats pretty much my thinking at the moment, this particular client does a few million dollars worth of business with the company I work for every year. Sweating bullets currently

You'll be fine man, if she's making lots of changes and not paying a lot, then she's probably aware of the fact that shes taking the piss. Shes probably only doing it because I assume your a younger employee.

Creatives talk shit on clients all the time, and what you said wasnt that bad.

i printed 30 shirts last week for some volleyball tournament and spelled one of the sponsors names wrong on the back of the shirt "PTA Answering Sevice" instead of "PTA Answering Service". They were fine with 50% discount. Haven't made a stupid mistake like that in a lonnnnnng time.

Perhaps the answer is to stop talking shit behind the backs of people, like a teenage girl

Worst I did was get hacked off at my old boss in a skateshop who was actually a good boss, he was just being a dick for a couple of weeks and a hypocrit and myself and the assistant manager got on a rant and my phone was in my pocket and rang him somehow. Kinda made things a bit awkward for a while that.

Wow man hope you don't get fucked. And you clearly stated that it wasn't adressed to her, so you must be fine.
It all depends on how much does your boss likes you and your work! Good luck!

It just depends on your standing with the company and if she even notices. Some people are so busy they dont have time to care about little shit like that. I was in the custom framing and art restoration biz for a while. I fucked up soooo many pieces of artwork over the years. Alot of times i could fix it and when i couldnt thats what we had insurance for. Worst thing that ever happened was a woman brought in a massive oil painting to have framed. It was to big to fit in our regular sleeves so i set it on a table under some shelves. I forgot to cover it before i left for the night. Maintainance guys were fixing something on the adjacent wall and it knocked a shelve off the wall and an awl(sharp icepick looking tool) fell and stuck right between the eyes of the subject in the painting. Well when i researched the painting it turned out to be worth around $25,000 at auction. We discussed the pros and cons of telling her or not. I patched the canvas and touched up the painting never saying a word to her. If she ever tries to sell it she will be in for a shock when it gets re-appraised.

After that incident the gallery i worked for changed their policy requiring us to appraise all original works and have the customer sign in agreement with the value. Any work worth over 5 grand was set in a seperate room and protected. Funny enough i was never in danger of loosing my job over it, turns out anyone in that line of work has done similar shit when they were first starting out.

Dude if you get fired for that Id say she has no sense of humor and that you can easily get another job if you explain what happened. Most designers hate to be fucked with so its understandable.

Fuck her, but that was silly of you!
