    Default Illusion spins

Ok, I started rolling in 1996 and stopped for a while at the beginning of 2002 (girls, work, other commitments) started again a year and a half ago....

Been wondering one thing (take the piss if you must).... What the hell is an Illusion spin?????

At first I thought it was when you spin a 360 (for example) one way (clockwise) then as you land, spin again the other way to grind...

Then, Someone told me it is where you spin one direction with your head turned the other direction (how the fuck???)

    Anyone help???? Thankola!

You look over one shoulder and spin the other way, making it seem like you are going to spin the opposite way you actually spin. It doesn't count unless you hold you head in the right position for atleast half of the spin.

Broskow does tons of illusions spins to grinds in this edit, watch his head and you'll see it:

I love kids. They're short, highly emotional people who don't know anything. They rely on their creativity and imagination to get by in the world. A world, I might add, filled with giants. Amazing feat.

Imagine spinning 180 from fakie to forwards.....one way is "short" and you can spot your landing the whole time.

The other way is "long" and you can't spot your landing 'til the very end.....that's illusion.

i do not endorse illusion tricks, tacky ass thing IMO. so hard to judge if its done right, plus imagine how hard explaining the difference between a royale and a farf is to some1 who does not know about blading, now imagine explaining an illusion. "you see his head looked one way but he spun the other, so tech you have to look close". Casual observers would never get that shit.

haha im pretty sure that if you were at a light and told someone to turn their head as far to the right as possible and make a u-turn theyd understand whats hard about that

Tacky? Hard to explain? What? This is the stupidest thing I've read on Be-Mag in a while. Confining our tricks to what the public can easily understand would reduce our sport to frontsides and backflips.

sorry people, but ill never buy into illusions. as soon as the person spins they jerk their head around to look the right awy last second. unless we implement this "slow motion" technology i dont see how you could look at it and be like "yep proper illusion" while saying another he turned his head too fast. just a lame trick. it would also be very hard to go up to a trick with a blind fold them remove right before u jumped on, but we havent restored to that have we?

This. That was a really stupid, ignorant and opinionated post.

just saying, doing shit to make it hard for no other reason then because is dumb, lets all roll on 1 foot before each trick, it will be really cool esp if u have on flannel, VX's and valos. dont forget not to shave for a 2 months .

People do it because it's new. If your argument is against people doing things solely for the difficulty then we should (in addition to 540s) stop doing topside tricks because they are harder than souls. We should stop doing acids because they are harder than souls. We should stop doing royales because they are harder than frontsides.

See where I'm going this? It's all about trick progression, my friend.
