Thread: upsidedown?

  1. #1

    Default upsidedown?

    are these upsidedown skates?
i know they used the "cult" shell.
same soulframes and cuffs as far as i can tell.
i only knew about the blue upsidedowns.
were these "chicagos" just an upsidedown model?

Thats the same boot as the USD Damocles. I would have thought it's an open mould.

To reiterate, and make it clear, Those "chicago" skates are NOT USD's, They do however use the same mould as the USD/UpSideDown Damocles that were the first USD's I'd seen prior to the blue shelled team thrones. Pretty sure the Damocles had a blue removable cuff. Inliners a company from the UK also used this mould and did really well with it, they called it the aggressor.

As if you're trying to call me out on What USD used to be called haha I've been skating since 95 mate!

All of this is correct. It's an open mold. This is what became the first Razor's if I remember correctly.

Sadly, there is far more to life than rollerblading.

Not true, the first razors where either the rebel or the tribe, than came the impact and than the cult shells.

BTW, I own the blue usd damocles. The shell is like a cult but the cuff is different.

First Razors mold was the STUNT. They had introed the Rebel and Tribe shortly after and sold the Tribe mold to Roces which used it for the 5th Element and Khutis.

And as far as USD/Chicago... LMFAO, Upsidedownskates was Chicago trying to be cool and it also evolved.

whaaaat? since when did roces buy a mold and use it as the 5th El/Khutis? I'd always thought the 5th els were original.

now, ive seen the tribe skates before but i dont even remember what they look like. if they'd looked like 5th els I would've noticed immediately.

maybe it wasn't the tribe, but there was a Razor mold that the frame and soulplate was one piece. I was with razors a long time ago so I can't remember the name but saw the skates and old catalogs at the warehouse in Vista.

The tribe is a completely different skate than the 5th element. It is ridiculous, to say that Razors sold a mould to roces.

A mould isn't anything you can change this much that easily.

Whatever. There was a Razor skate that the soul/frame mold was sold to Roces. Maybe it wasn't the tribe, but there was a Razor skate that had that piece.

roces most likely has never purchased another persons mold. most of the shit they do is original. im sure if they did, it certainly wouldnt be a cheap mold from razors. razors back then probably didnt even have their own molds, whether hardware or boot.

The owner of Razors has far deeper pockets and reach in the sporting goods manufacturing world than you know, but hey, all you new kids know everything.

Yeah....no. Ive also been skating for a while, and I am positive Razors and Roces never helped each other out like that. Besides, as was all ready pointed out by Al in my earlier shaming, Roces M-12 mold was there own and the Cult/Flat boots were the cheap Chineese knock offs....Go Al's super amazing knowledge.
