Default Carbon 1s - some quick questions

I have been thinking about getting some carbon 1s. I know some of these have been gone over before, but I cannot find real answers for them.

I am a UK8. Size 8 salomons were a little on the squishy side on my toes. Size 8 roces are too small. Size 8 razors cults are too tight. I guess I am an 8.5. Would size 8 USD carbons be my best fit?

What are the major downsides of the carbon? Is the forward flex a temporary problem? Do they break in well?

Is the boot flat like the old deshis? I am used to a little forward lean (like salomons) is this easily fixed?

Anything else i should consider before dropping the cash?

    Thank you everyone!

fit depends on foot width. if you have wide feet they won't. otherwise if they feel tight give em a quick heat mold. flex forward does break in. side and back not so much. and with the exception of the shock absorbers they're flat. i personally don't like the stock ones as they'r stiff and don't really absorb shock. try salo absorbers. they work awesome. great skates. a little stiff, but you eventually get used to them and then they're phenomenal. slide awesome too. hope all that helps.

Sounds like you should go for a 9, you can try the smaller size but would probably have to do a bunch of heat molding. There is very little forward flex at first but they break in after a couple hard sessions, you can also flex the tongue and the front of the cuff by hand for a bit to make it go faster. The boot is flat on the bottom, stock shock gives a tiny bit of heel rise but no forward lean feeling. Make sure you give them some time to break in, thats the most important thing really.
