on that note, having a cop as the main character is either retarded or brilliant. cops are the epitome of representing the preservation of the status quo, and we all know that the status quo has serious flaws, in that respect it was retarded, because this main character is really cool and respectable and they are glorifying cops by association. thats why we always have cop and soldier movies, in my opinion. it's not a conscious decision, but a subconscious decision that proliferates complete and total respect and reverence for soldiers and cops when in reality it should be a much more nuanced form of respect for certain parts of their career (like dedication and self sacrifice) and indifference or disapproval for other parts of their career (like complete obedience to authorities that have questionable motives or purposes) which is not to make any blanket judgment about their integrity as people, but what i am pointing out is that it glorifies a career that can be morally questionable
on the other hand, the writer may have been fully aware of the implications of having a cop as the main character of a zombie series, in that case it may turn out brilliantly
does that make sense?
