"Traitement" looks amazing. The passion for blading that was put into this film is inspiring. I am deifnitely going to pick this one up.

a video by jonas hansson, dedicated to brain fear gone and vg 4, featuring dominik wagner, kare lindberg, mathieu heinemann, jacob juul, gabriel hyden and rob g?

    yes!

just so you know, it's the epitome of artsy fag shots.
i'd say it's worth it for heinemann's topsoul on the drop rail off the bridge alone. dat angle!
then again i'm just a sucker for heinemann.
i've watched it 4 times so far and it keeps getting better.

    give this a try:

if you don't like it you're probably better off getting something else.

I didn't really like it too much to be honest

Too many long useless clips, that didn't set the mood or do anything for me... and the whole philosoraptor thing got old quick.

got it saturday, watched it three times allready, it really is a masterpiece.
The production, filming, editiing quality is just amazing, (nearly) every shot looks just perfect. All songs a rather slow and it sometimes looks more like a documentary.
The skating sure is on top: Jacob Juuls laces some serious hammers, Kare's section was filled with smooth tricks, dominik's section was my favourite, love his skating, mathieu does some hammers aswell, skates like a ninja and so damn fast .
The video could definitely use more Gape Hyden, some faster songs and maybe a bit less artsy shots though. But I sure love it.
It's definitely a chill video and worth buying

    Great movie.

Slow paced, would rather watch after skating then before.

But then again, I'm just a sucker for artsy fag shots.

Traitement actually gets me pretty juiced to skate. I just love all of the skaters, and the song for dominik's section is so good. A+ video.

Way to slow paced for me. Wasn't into all the drawn out artsy shots of the sun, flowers etc. 4life is the perfect mix between b roll and blading, traitement is a bit much. This flick is a no go for me...

You just described 4life, then went on to say 4life is exactly what you like

4life did not have as much arsty bullshit of the grass and what the sky looks like, it had some but no where near traitement. I felt like 4life had more rollerblading. Even when there wasnt sections there was almost skating the entire time.

I think the fact that 4Life was a "video" and Traitement was a "film" says a lot. 4Life was meant to document the skating, Traitement was more like a traditional "film" than a skate video because (at least, this is what I got from it) it sought to elicit some sort of emotional response from the audience, one with more depth than "Damn, that trick was cool." This explains the abundance of "artsy" shots (meant to set the mood, in a way), the music choice (like a legitimate soundtrack, not just the rider's choice or what the editor personally likes), and all of the philosophical talk by the skaters about how skating is a form of treatment to them.

I was really drunk when I watched both 4life and traitment, but I noticed that traitement actually did it right with the bullshit non-skating shots. They used a basic technique called "establishing shots". They were not pointless. every film practices this technique.

Here's a prime example of it in Shawshank.

A classic example of the "establishing shot," this shot surveys the whole prison before cutting to Andy on the bus as it rolls through the gates.
Even while drunk, I still understood the reasoning behind that. 4life had bullshit shots that were not relevant to the skatespot or even teh skaters. I wouldn't even call it broll.

But it haz valo, and broskow... so everything else is lame and sweatpants.
