    Repetition.

Some of the guys that hardly study and get good grades talk out loud and wave their hands while reading their notes like they're giving a lecture. I see them doing it before exams.

I read books, take my own notes, then read over the notes a few times, and I often use a highlighter for things I know I should read more or concepts or details that I think are most important.

make mnemonic devices and little stories that will jog your memory of the term/thing.

    example:

i know the definition of Fecund because it sounds like "fucking". It means "fertile"

i know that soporific means something that makes you sleepy because i imagine it would be a brand name of weed. so + terrific = soporific bud

i remember that the lungs derive from the endoderm because it reminds me of smoking endo.

use ridiculous stories like those and it's so easy to memorize random facts, fast and permanently.

Move something you always use to a different place, then you'll think "Why did I do this?" and then you'll be all, "Ooooooooohhh, because I needed to remember ____ __________ ___________"
    Wat.

You need stories to memorize definitions?

When it comes to memorizing a bunch of things, I make my own weird words with all the first letters of the words. I do this for example to remember latin names of bones/organs/veins and such in fish in order of placement. Works really great since the words often sound ridiculous.

I usually read the whole book at once to get a general idea about the subject, then I proceed to memorise everything chapter by chapter. I don't really use any techniques or highlight stuff, just DO IT FAGGOT.

it's weird how they name the nervous system that reacts to stressful situations the sympathetic nervous system! hah
but it's easier to remember because you just know it's the opposite of what it sounds like it should be
