Not really illusion, he just doesn't look. Also, skiers have the worst style and they complain about rollerblader style.
so he didn't execute well. it still was kind of sick. and it was only a 90. get an example of someone with style and more than half a spin... it's like a rollerblader poorly executing it as well. just because its harder doesn't make it cool for everyone to do it.

I'm using it as an example of when a skier might do one. If it were a straight launch he wouldn't have been carving onto it, and wouldn't have been looking over his switch shoulder.
It's hard to believe people enjoy that crap.
Who gives a fuck about skiing? I aggressive skate.
LOLZ at skiers trying to ride powder. I don't think he landed a single powder landing.
If you knew how to read, you'd know this was leftover footage. When you spend 6 months logging shots, you inevitably end up with a lot more footage then you can fit into a seg, and there's some solid stuff that ends up hitting the cutting room floor, extra angles, and a few ALMOST bangers that are worth checking out.
Illusion of knees
It's interesting how hate works. First you divide yourself from whatever you wanna hate, then you isolate any trait that's not mutual and decree yours superior and theirs inferior.
Why would anyone think not bending knees and not flailing arms is a weakness....struggling to maintain balance is more stylish?
Does not grabbing count in skiing?
I understand where you're coming from, but I think bending the knees makes the body movements look more fluid. This is also why I think snowboarding looks cooler than skiing (except when skiers cross their skis when spinning in the air, I think that looks absolutely badass)
CULTURAL AESTHETICS.

I'm saying the biomechanics of the activity dictate the aesthetics. Squat landings and waiter arms may be an aesthetic way of maintaining balance on skates, but on skis the same measures are the mark of not landing right.
I'm saying that free skiing and aggressive skating are two different cultures and, more often than not, aesthetic judgements are culturally conditioned.
Gonz has a point though, there are aesthetic forms that transcend individual cultures. I think a culture becomes greater by taking heed of this, and developing their aesthetics in accord with those of new participants.
skiing is so poppin, I just wish I had friends who actually skiied so they could hook me up with gear, cus that shit is expensive.
D.B.O.Z.
DONT BE OBAMA ZOMBIES.
at :52.
But yeah it's not considered a trick, more like the guy can't ski switch looking over his left shoulder.
