Default i did some more dessert paintings. pleas help me and give me some advises.

i am trying to improve myself from the ground up.
i know there are some amazing artists here and have knowledge way beyond my ability.
please if you guys can be so kind, teach me some useful techniques and help me improve.
p.s. i dont need the easy way to improve, i want something hard and challenging so i can be better,
    thank you guys.

good colors but it's all kind of sloppy. take your time and dilute the paint.

I expected to see desert landscapes, so you're doing good there!

you can critique them, it is perfect fine.
yes, they are part of my restaurant series. you know, an artist sometimes still has to sell his soul in order to eat.

i realize art is interpreted in a million different ways especially your pre-conceived notions, so whatever. I was just in the mood to think about art tonight thats all haha.

i used to be a GM at a fine dining establishment.
restaurant pics are pretty involved in the atmosphere/experience of dining. dont put yourself down haha thats sick. the other ones you got are dope as well. random pics on the wall of food need to invoke a happy feeling and thought about food, food porn essentially. the warmer colors give it that nice hungry feeling and the cooler colors keep it nice and refreshed/balanced. eating food is a constant battle between hungry, thirsty, hungry, thirsty, hot, cold, hot, cold.

the one on the left has a nice spread in the color range. the light blue back drop blends nicely into the dish and the dark blue bowl portion brings it together at the bottom. you stayed with real warm colors for the piece but kept the bowl portion dark blue which is sick especially with some dark red thrown in. That dish is most likely moist/cold in texture/temp so a warm ending is clutch. if it was a cool ending you may feel nausea - like "ohhh what did i just eat?"
think of mentally eating that dish. it starts off heavy but then you finish eating and the bowl closes it with a cool feeling. the only thing i would say is that the chocolate syrup is a little thick. syrup has a real bad emotional overtone to it depending on what kind of restaurant it is. sometimes its best to make the lines thinner and just drizzle you know. tease that shit haha.

the one on the right. again, nice color swatch. the real heavy cream is in front of a warm backdrop but not overwhelming with the green thrown in there, i like that. the fruit sauce lightens up the feeling into a fluffy cake that is most likely dry and finishes with more fruit to moisten and finally dampen the effect of how unhealthy dessert really is lol. and then finally the cool plate colors giving it a nice complete ending. the very last part of eating that dish would most likely be the fruit sauce thats left over which is a real warm feeling so the base plate colors again help your mind digest that piece. nothing too exotic at the end of it for you to contemplate.
the only thing i would say on this one is the background. i cant really say what it is but it just doest flow right for some reason.

with that said, restaurant art is suppose to be generic, quick glances depending on position in the dining area. no one is suppose to look at a piece and go "hmmm he mustve been angry at his parents when he painted that"
just suppose to add to the atmosphere/theme of the place. id be interested to see how you do main course dishes honestly.

and thats my 4am critique of your art.
