It was a distinction from a skate magazine, who really cares? It's not like he got some kind of a cash prize or an official ceremony.
*edit: Not saying that he isn't an amazing skater, just saying that the distinction of "Skater of the Year" without some kind of financial compensation, like a cash prize, or ceremony at the end of the "season" rather than a cover shot and brief article in the magazine that made the distinction isn't all that significant in the long run.

I love kids. They're short, highly emotional people who don't know anything. They rely on their creativity and imagination to get by in the world. A world, I might add, filled with giants. Amazing feat.

I think he deserved it. He's the new tech /stunt/punk skater and will for sure influence a whole new generation of skaters. And the old ones, too.
