Default Does anyone here take vitamins for their health?

I just watched Foodmatters. Apparently I can take niacin for depression symptoms and take vitamin C as a mood elevator. Does anyone know anything about or have some recommendations as to where I should look for more information? I've dealt with depression almost my entire life and although it doesn't affect things as much anymore, i still feel it in my general mood and demeanor.

At the same time, there are plenty of vitamins that help to improve health and recovery (from injuries and such). Some info on those would be nice too. We all know that some help in that area would be nice.

I take Vitamin C, Calcium, Magnesium, and Potassium supplements.

I take 2 Melatonin pills at night to help me stay asleep.

I love kids. They're short, highly emotional people who don't know anything. They rely on their creativity and imagination to get by in the world. A world, I might add, filled with giants. Amazing feat.

Raw Cacao beans, best thing in the world,
search for it on google, number 1 superfood on every list,
I'm eating it now for 2 months, the effect is amazing, it's like cocaine but without the negative side effects. it also doesn't make you wild, it gives you just a lot of power, and it is up to you to transform it in active of passive way. not so easy to get, not so cheap, but wonderful thing

other things you have to eat

Spirulina / Chlorella (green stuff from the sea) (almost every element is in it!!)
    Maca (from Peru)
    Fruit / vegetables
    Tofu
    Rice / Quinoa / Spelt Wheat / ...
    Seeds (pumpkin, sunflower,...
    Honey
Water / Soja Drink / thee
    herbs / spices
    ....

Forget all the other things in the world, do this 1 month and transform yourself in another human, after this you never want to eat the dirty, heavy stuff anymore. You still can eat pizza's/pancakes... and stuff, it's just how you prepare it.

I use Vitamin E for small patches of dry skin on my face (near the corners of my lips), and, if I'm sick, 2-4 times the recommended amount of Vitamin C for a few days usually does the trick.

I doubt any of your diets are deficient in any vitamins unless you eat an awful diet or are a severe alcoholic. Not sure of the efficacy of using Melatonin to reduce night time awakenings, but whatever's clever. The info I was just presented with in Neurology and Psychology indicate it's natural to wake up about 2-3 times a night.

Vitamins aren't necessary unless you have some dietary deficiency. Vegans have difficulty getting B12, for example. If you eat a balanced diet, you shouldn't need any additional vitamins.

Vitamin C and Vitamin B is pretty much all I take. Although the booze probably counters any good either do for my body.

I didn't say it was impossible to be vegan and get B12. But veganism is classically associated with B12 deficiency.
