use a flat head skrew driver and put it on the thingy on the other side. its a pain in the ass but it usally works. if not drill the bitch!
the only reason that you stripped the screw is because you didnt use a tool on the backside nut in the first place!
they can be kind of annoying, but its not hard... yeah you need to have a flat-head screwdriver keeping the back nut still when you unscrew, or you'll just spin that thing into oblivion.
i just got new buckles cause mine were gettin flappy and got em on no problem.
p.s. how enjoyable is it to work on skates? change bearings, clean frames, make em new and fresh again.... its so relaxing.

haha no im not even being sarcastic! i have always found manual-labor type work to be relaxing. i used to work for a painting company doing stuff with my hands all day and it was tiring but relaxing. plus with skates its just like, awww yeah baby these skates are gonna be funky FRESH when i'm finished. i enjoy the struggle.you're crazy man. . . or just hopefully being sarcastic. . working on skates is the worst shit ever. . . some times i consider adopting a child to do it for me

you know how sometimes wheels with 6mm spacers or whatever, the ones that go all the way through, the spacer would get smashed to the bearing and then you couldn't replace the bearings if they broke cause they get stuck in the wheel...
i needed this wheel super bad, and the bearings / spacers were so rusted and smashed in there was no hope. i yanked and pulled on that shit with a vice, i pounded it with a hammer, i plyed with pliers... finally i came up with this great plan... i boiled a pot of water, put the wheel, bearings and all inside, this way it would expand the urethane a bit.. i stirred it around and let it boil for like 15 mins, then took the hot wheel out, and beat it from all sides with a hammer. finally the bearing and spacer came free, the rust came off, and i let the wheel cool and put in new bearings and spacers, and walla good as new...
my most epic skate struggle, but it was so rewarding.
i bitch about tightening a bolt or changing a wheel which takes like 10 seconds then i watch my biker friends work on their bikes for hours only to have another part break or something expensive go wrong
