this is the version I own and the only version I've ever seen
"The Ridley Scott-approved (1992, 116 minutes) Director's Cut; prompted by the unauthorized 1990–1991 workprint theatrical release and made available on VHS and laserdisc in 1993, and on DVD in 1997. Significant changes from the theatrical version include: removal of Deckard's voice-over, insertion of a unicorn sequence and removal of the studio-imposed happy ending. Ridley did provide extensive notes and consultation to Warner Bros. through film preservationist Michael Arick who was put in charge of creating the Director's Cut"
on laserdisc

i just watched the 1982 version with a voiceover and the happy ending. Ford's voiceover was AWFULbut it does actually contain some key information... such as the fact that Rachael (and deckard?) is a special replicant who does not have an expiration
the added unicorn dream puts a lid on the debate for me, unfortunately. there is just too much that points toward him being a replicant. I would have preferred it to have been ambiguous, as it was before they added the dream.
so the REAL question is, which do you think makes for a more interesting story? that question is much more fun than proving one way or another
i'm torn. because on one hand it's more interesting for a human to fall in love with a replicant
but on the other it is real provoking that they created replicants to hunt down other replicants
which creates another question... does deckard know that he is a replicant?

My favourite movie and game when I was a kid
bazodazo and Espen rules all
I love anything with a dystopian view of the future from the eyes of the past, mostly 80s but some 70s movies

i've read dick's valis trilogy and a few of his others and somehow keep forgetting to read this...watched the movie(directors cut and theatrical) many times. Will answer poll after reading book.
i love the book, but the movie definitely took some liberties and is pretty loosely based on the book. so if youve read the book then yeah, deckards human but i think in the movie it's supposed to be ambiguous. deckard is way more bad ass in the movie, but philip k. dick is a genius and i fucking love everything ive read from him. i think im going to watch the movie and read the book again. one of my favorite movies of all time though.
