Okay so large frames it is, now the debate begins... freestyle m types or anti rocker fluids?

Me personally i would get freestyles, im riding Flt 2s anti but i prefer freestyles, only been riding anti for about two years and the rest of the time been freestyle. Antis just get annoying after awhile imo.
But it depends on what u prefer! Since u are coming from flat id try antis first

Got to say when I had my freestyle frames it makes landing on ledges etc a lot easyer as you just slide in to the grooves no mater Wher the frame hits
Both frames.... not a bad idea! I'd pick the fluids, though.

Freestyle frames offer some benefits, but I used to see a lot of people with freestyle frames who had really sloppy style. I don't know if thats co-incidence or not, but a decent anti-rocker set-up (with urethane anti's) will likely help you develop your skating.
don't skate freestyle. skate flat

I've decided to give anti a try, going to order the white fluids in large, some billy o neil 57/90's and i've got the razors rockers already.
I figure that gives me more choice if i want to go back to flat at some stage.
often it depends what you skate on a daily basis. our warm-up spot used to be a rail that was really fat, so anything short of plastic anti-rockers or freestyle would result in pain unless you locked absolutly perfectly with the frame at a big lean angle, on every trick. which, since we were there warming up and trying to learn new stuff, didnt really happen all the time.
yes, a lot of people with freestyle setups have dodgy style, but since i never see any beginners skating flat/urethane anti for more than short bursts (apart from proper park rats) im not sure how correct it is. the only people on flat, and most urethane anti-rocker setup skaters that i know are all older and have already developed their own style.

I love skating flat, but I don't skate often enough to get accustomed to skating flat again. I skated tri-rocker for a bit, and while I enjoyed it, I'm back to anti.
Mostly because I do try to skate super fat ledges from time to time, and the UHMW anti's I have work awesome on that ledge. I can still skate at mach1 if I need to.
Fuck you, cunts. I'll keep posting if I want to.
Urethane anti-rockers > all other middle wheels, to include powerblading setups, flat, and tri.
Thought i'd revive this thread rather than start a new one,
Had a good skate today, but had mad foot pain on the outside edge of my right foot after about 20 mins.
Is there anything i can do to help combat this?
If ur skates are newish than u may need to break them in a bit, if not then u may need to create more room inside the skate by getting thinner insoles and what not.
Also for me with razors i always toss out that thick shock absorber and use a smaller one, it also eliminates heel lift

When i got back into skating i bought some used remz off of a friend and had the same problem i just went with much thinner socks and it helped alot.
Any suggestions for smaller shock absorbers?
To be fair there must be a bit of break in time left but anything that can speed that up is good.
Since my skates didn't come with shock absorbers, I decided to make my own. I picked up some Dr. Sholls gel insoles and cut the entire front half off following the curvature of the arch support on the insole. I'd have to say it works really well. It's thin, light and absorbs shocks really well. They're better than any other heal pad I've used. Also if you're having pressure point problems, you could try heat molding the problem area.
Nice, i'll look into it.
Thought about heat moulding but dont think its possible with gens?
