i guess you could always shave it down a lot. if i was going to do it i'd get a bigger one then cut to the size i want.

or if that doesn't work, how about taking the plastic shell of another skate and putting it around the wear areas of the carbon. forget the added weight, everyone says light skates are dumb anyway.
